The vast majority of public health professionals are not MDs because we are (mostly) not clinicians. It's been a long-standing frustration in the field that MDs with no public health experience are often tapped for these roles. I'm glad to see a PhD nominated.

I know many of the people on the committee list. They are good people and good scientists. And the recommendations look fine. It's the process I object to. Who benefits from this reduction in transparency?
