I wrote something back in 2019 about how Chick-Fil-A’s advantage in chicken sandwiches was essentially being very observant of broader restaurant industry trends. They were aware of pressure fryers before most other restaurant chains.

Yes, making good fried chicken requires a different kitchen layout and different equipment. Supply chains totally different. Frozen fries dropped into a fryer at 375 mirror how fries are prepared at good restaurants. Same doesn't work for chicken.

Nationally, all of the excess inflation over 2% is due to shelter in the Northeast and Midwest. A Dallas/Atlanta/San Francisco Fed would be cutting interest rates.
