The validity of the election results could have been questioned, but it's too late now. We have to focus on the current situation and how best to deal with it. Speak out against the offensive, hold elected officials accountable, attend rallies and town halls, call out lies and question flawed logic

I think we've just become desensitized to it. x is almost 100% lies, misinformation, distractions and denials. Legitimate outrage about real corruption is buried under a mountain of fake outrage about false claims of corruption. People have given up trying to wade through it all, it's very tiring.

It's an interesting comparison that makes me wonder how the US military would react. We know Hegseth would do whatever trump told him, but would the rank and file do the same, or would they have the courage to respect their oath to the country and do the right thing?

You're missing the point George. The background checks are to ensure potential appointees aren't embellishing their crimes in order to increase their chances of being appointed. There's a lot of competition within the party.
