Israel escalates and escalates so who knows where their conflict Iran will end up.

I wonder if Mark Latham had been elected he would have governed like Keir Starmer? #auspol

When the #robodebt royal commission report was handed down, imagine if victims and their families had been told: - the #NACC would whitewash the whole episode - NO government minister would be held to account - the key criminal - Scott Morrison - would receive the nation's highest honour. #auspol

Super interesting post

Some thoughts about the military parade in my hometown of Washington DC today -- specifically, the route. Military parades in DC are quite rare. But when they happen, they have always begun, symbolically and geographically, at the Capitol and moved outward. 1/

At the very least Linda Reynolds is fixated about Brittany Higgins in a very unhealthy way. #auspol www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Trump is not the problem with the USA. The USA is the problem if it can produce a Trump. Australia has to be realistic and stop relying on an increasingly unstable America. #auspol

Losing this would be a tragedy www.theage.com.au/national/vic...

You can see the bloke aim at her

Just wondering, was anyone out there NOT assuming that Trump would keep ramping up illegal & violent actions against those he was seeking to vilify, until there was an inevitable & justified pushback, that he would then use to justify using the national guard/military to commit even worse violence?

Superannuation was never meant to be a tax-evasion tool for the mega wealthy. Super is for retirement savings, not a low-tax vehicle for intergenerational wealth inheritance. Everyone is more than welcome to be massively wealthy, they just have to pay their fair share of tax! Simple!

Lol So who are people backing in the looming civil war between Trump and Musk?

Bazillionaires, who could literally afford ALL THE THERAPY, instead spending their treasure to make their weird issues with their fellow humans into public policy.

This just makes me happy. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

The ALP had a famous victory built on preferences. Good luck to them! I suspect though after voters preference 1 & 2 they sort of vaguely fill in the rest of the ballot until they get to a known party that has a shitty reputation like the Liberals. The same could happen to Labor. #auspol

The ongoing loss of life, starvation and human suffering in Gaza is unconscionable and I do not accept that Australia's influence is limited. I have written to the Prime Minister asking him to use the authority of his office in a stand against the actions of Israel. #gaza #auspol bit.ly/4mz81ut

The right and far right in Australia certainly have some problems. They tried Dutton as an Australian Trump and that was a disaster. #auspol

What is it with Littleproud always looking as though he is about to burst into tears? #auspol

Trump has made the United States a selfish, unpredictable and unreliable ally and Australia should adjust its foreign policy accordingly. It should keep an appropriate distance and look for closer relationships with other countries, especially in Asia and Europe. #auspo ...

I'm so old I remember middle aged men in autumn raking up leaves and burning them in the gutter.

Is hypernormalisation this feeling of angst knowing society is turning to crap but we all pretend things are normal, an intended way of managing society by the Trumps of the world or is it some end game of late stage capitalism? www.theguardian.com/wellness/ng-...

I just love that "Tesla" has become a verb.

#auspol Unless there was a compelling administrative reason, why didn't the Nats and the Libs simply say they were still in discussion rather than end the coalition? Both Littleproud and Ley seem to have very poor political skills.
