Another consequence of canceled games and studio closures: It kills innovation. A variation of the Nemesis System could've been huge for a game like this and since it wouldn't be patented (like the Shadow of Mordor version) other games could've taken it even further. What a damn shame.

In reference to the Cliffhanger Games closure: If EA chooses to focus only on "significant growth opportunities" but still fails, doesn't that mean they just suck at running a business? They better knock it out of the park going forward or they're gonna look incompetent on top of being assholes.

Layoffs are horrible for all the upheaval of people's lives reasons, but they also incentivize poor discipline on thr part of business executives. Why carefully manage spending or take due diligence to ensure projects are successful long-term when you can just smash the layoff button?

The ultimate flaw with the Switch 2's game key cards is when the eShop eventually becomes defunct that key card becomes useless if resold or given away. That's a games preservation nightmare. microSD express cards with these games on them are gonna be insanely valuable in 15-20 years.
