If the US had compulsory voting, voting preferences, paper ballots/record and a day off to vote I think we’d be in a different, likely better, place now. Instead we are doubling down on creating difficulty, disinterest, and suspicion. Constraints, especially enabling constraints, matter.

Does it seem incoherent to anyone else that RFK Jr is hunting a mystery toxin while the EPA stops monitoring known toxins and the fed govy tries to enable coal?

There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers. Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

But $1 trillion in tax would have crashed economy ( /sarc). Last I checked 9.6 > 1. It may not be that simple but compare the last 50 years of productivity gains to how the benefits of those gains have been distributed. ‘Ownership’ isn’t possible without social cohesion.
