BREAKING: A few minutes ago, a vehicle of three people was rammed by a truck belonging to federal immigration authorities in Boyle Heights, CA. According to security footage shown to me, they deployed chemical munitions & detained the driver at gunpoint. All are US citizens according to the wife.

If it's on your table, it was likely picked by someone being picked up by thugs right now. Avocados, rice, tomato sauce, peaches, lettuce, strawberries, grapes (wine! raisins!), broccoli... California produces most if not all of what the US eats. Stock up on canned and frozen now.

I warned someone who married and helped get citizenship for a brown immigrant about this after he voted for it. His response was "if he does we'll tie it up in the courts". "Yeah, we thought that about Roe v Wade" I replied... Haven't spoken to him since. I hope she's okay...

So out here in rural #California there are zero primary care doctors taking new patients. Been looking for the past 5 years. So this morning I'm off to the #ER to find out if this unrelenting 8/10 pain in my side is esophageal spasms, a bowel obstruction or something even worse. Wish me luck.

Just read a book about 3 women who hiked the JMT. The author lives near my parents place. Checked out her website. She's doing a talk this month for a women's club up there. The other person talking that day is a skydiver that I jumped with on the women's world record in 2002. World. Small.

My Mom agreed without hesitation to selling the house and moving to assisted living. Her only concern was where. I guess being alone while Dad was dying at the SNF made her realize she doesn't want to live alone. Dreading emptying that house but also so happy she'll be safe and looked after.
