Pure insane BS

@rokhanna.bsky.social Elon Musk singlehandedly helped to destroy Pepfar and USAID, which will result in hundreds of thousands of people dying. What does it say about your moral compass that you consider someone who is causing hundreds of thousands of deaths a possible ally? Just repugnant.

An incompetent clusterfuck perpetrate by incompetent clusterfucks. wapo.st/4kumlCM

So government by idiots and clowns doesn't work? The Trump administration is racing to fix a big mistake: DOGE fired too many people Even before Elon Musk and President Donald Trump split this week, agencies across the federal government were scrambling to hire back workers.

So making IPhones here.....not a great idea. "Many Americans — particularly younger ones — view classic factory work as unappealing. Today, there are nearly 500,000 unfilled manufacturing jobs."

True... "Americans of the last generation have gotten an education in the existence of the class system. When I first came here in the 1980s, people used to seriously say to me, “There is no class system in the U.S.” You don’t hear people saying that anymore."

LOL "The Democratic Party...isn’t really a political party in the European sense, with individual members and ward meetings..more of a collection of ambitious individual politicians backed by different interest groups." “What should we do about the Democratic Party?” “Why don’t we create one?”

Students and teachers too!

Anyone who gets primaried by a Musk-funded challenger will just run ads against Musk the entire campaign and win. I bet he really can't figure out how he got so rich and is still such a loser.

The US typically deports 300-500K per year. Yawn....... “Arrests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement during President Trump’s second term topped 100,000 this week, as federal agents intensified efforts to detain unauthorized immigrants in courthouses, worksites and communities across the U.S.”

Unwelcome at Kennedy Center, LGBTQ+ orchestra defiantly plays in Maryland reut.rs/3SZpPBr

Whether it's Twitter or Trump 2.0, Elon's real talent is to trash things he overpaid for

The Trump / Musk feud presents a real dilemma to the mainstream media that sanewashes each guy to try to help them. I guess they'll go with "an increasingly bitter conflict borne out of spending levels in the budget" or something to avoid stating the truth that trump is senile and musk is on drugs

I wish them both the worst.

Anyone surprised by this has not paid attention for the last decade.

ROFLMAO

“The U.S. economy slowed to a crawl in May, with consumers pulling back on spending and businesses delaying hiring, according to the Federal Reserve‘s Beige Book survey released Wednesday,” MarketWatch reports.

Oh, this looks like fun....

Weakest ADP employment since March 2023.

The newspaper that broke Watergate becomes a lame bulletin board for anyone who wants to tack up an article. If it weren't my local paper that I get at a teacher discount, there would be no reason to get it.

“My name’s Donovan. Irish. Both sides, mother and father. I’m Irish, you’re German. But what makes us both Americans? Just one thing. One, one, one. The rule book. We call it the Constitution and we agree to the rules, and that’s what makes us Americans.” — Bridge of Spies

When teaching "Intro to International Relations" I aimed to minimize *reliance* on AI (though not banning its use). For example, the course paper was written iteratively and interactively. Specifically, students wrote it in segments and peer-reviewed those segments over multiple TA sections.

What a recipe for stupid.... "Indiana has decided that world history is no longer a required subject for graduation. As such, unfortunately my position as a world history teacher has been eliminated and it sounds like most schools across the state are following suit."

The Democratic National Committee will park a taco truck outside the Republican National Committee’s headquarters on Capitol Hill with a graphic of President Trump in a chicken suit and the “Trump Always Chickens Out” slogan, Axios reports.

This is how you put fascists in their place.

Investors should keep faith with U.S. corporations and their ability to fund bond payments. After the strong years 2023-2024, corporate credit sheets are “set up to weather the storm...it is possible to stay shorter in corporate credit without exposing oneself to a high level of interest rate risk.

The swamp “For decades, the FBI and DOJ have been the main enforcers against political corruption and white-collar fraud. In four months, Trump dismantled key parts of that infrastructure, creating...the ripest environment for corruption by public officials and business executives in a generation."

Voters are stupid. "75% said they were concerned about the growing federal debt and thought Congress should tackle it. However, only 17% thought Social Security was the largest federal spending program (it is) and only 27% thought extending 2017 tax cuts another decade would push deficits higher."

Hey Texas voters, let's find WORSE people to send to DC this time! "Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) trails Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) by 22 points, according to a new independent poll of the Senate GOP primary, 50% to 28%."

FAFO, MAGA morons....... “Federal Emergency Management Agency officials are scrapping a hurricane-response plan that its recently appointed leader, David Richardson, had said was close to completion, according to agency staff,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

I'm so glad we got rid of DEI and are hiring on merit now

I don't get people denying what was painfully obvious. Just makes them look blindly partisan and foolish. "Ashley Biden, daughter of former President Biden, issued a fiery response to a new book alleging her father is in cognitive decline, calling the claims “damn disrespectful” and “fake news.”

DOGE’s intense scrutiny of federal spending is forcing employees to spend hours justifying even the most basic purchases. New rules mandating review and approval by political appointees are leaving thousands of contracts and projects on ice for months.

The ISM manufacturing survey comments are lit: “.. supply chain disruptions rivaling that of COVID ..”
