The small joys in a developer's life, when unnecessary pain points go away.

This your non automated reminder! (I was thinking I forgot to do a couple of chores today, and then I randomly remembered this post.)

Every superhero needs their archnemesis. Maybe Lucy resolved that Karl was going to be her sworn enemy?

She looks so majestic when standing on an elevated vantage point!
comment in response to post
This is, sadly, true.

cis men are so afraid that if anyone other than themselves have power, we'll treat them how they want to treat us.

No answer from me (only a comment 😅), but I guess that, from a user's point of view, both the 5-byte and 3-byte values are just an opaque, random value. The specification you linked, however, looks aimed at driver developers.

That's awesome news! I'm so happy for you!!

I guess the best tactic is not to avoid news altogether; instead, read or watch *few* news only for a limited amount of time, and from reputable sources.

You'd have to lose weight really, really fast, I guess. If I remember, yours is a gentle weight loss; those should be the best kind (or so I think)!

Working naked would probably be a safety hazard. I hope they would provide some PPE and some sunscreen, too! Other than that, I see no downsides!

Never did anything like that. And I've rarely seen people doing retreats in larger companies, either.

Oh no, supermarkets in my area only offer a single type of basket.

What a work of art!

One of them must be the evil version from the mirrored world.

Can I borrow Lucy for a weekend? I need some help from an expert electrician. Seriously, what a gremlin! I'm shocked! 😭😭😭

I don't think she did, otherwise some switch would have been turned off*. * If your wiring has been made in the last 30 years or so, more or less.

I'm sorry about that, I didn't mean it. Thank you for being so understanding, and I'm sorry again for my blunder!

Which food is it, and how did it "improve"?

That is what I assume cats are thinking when meowing or chattering at insects. Do they think they can lure them? Are they trying to "use the Force" to make their prey come towards them?
comment in response to post
Oooh, YES! We want to see the un-fluffed version of Lucy!
comment in response to post
She has to chatter to make the moth materialize through the window pane.

I never thought of looking into the BSON format before. Thank you for your very well explained article!

LOL, I'm dying! And your descriptions are superb!

One babbe is too dignified to be weird. The other one sits like a bulldog, especially at breakfast time, when she insists on staying on the kitchen table purring, giving head bumps, and putting her tail in my caffelatte.

(Sorry, I might have used that joke before.)

Coming across something written in a hurry on late nights or early mornings always gives me some good surprises.

I've rarely had trouble with suspend, but hibernate never worked properly on any of my machines.

My laundry pile is growing rapidly, thank you. How about yours? BTW, do you have any tips on how to make it taller, without it falling down? No cheating! Folding is *not* allowed. Jokes aside, it's okay to neglect some chores every now and then!

And, as I always say...

When I put her inside, the poor beetle was lying upside down, dead. This morning, seeing that it didn't move an inch, I gently swept it away. IT STARTED WALKING AGAIN. It even stretched its wings, and then it found a hiding place. Fate of the undead beetle: unknown.
comment in response to post
Minutes later, the cat was chasing the flying beetle all over the backyard. She was *running*! And *jumping*! She was having the time of her life (I don't think the beetle was enjoying this, though). Then she brought it inside, again. I gave that thing another chance and, finally, closed the door.

What's the deal with Lucy's leg? Did she forget it, being too carried away with her grooming duties?

Lucy: backing off. Lily: let's fight again? Please? Just one more round?

Maybe she got overstimulated?

Do you need a number? String. A boolean flag? String. An enumeration? String. A list? String. A date? String. Some kind of text with some structure (like an IP address or a credit card number)? String.
