I'm never going to shut up about this, and how happy it made me as a Java developer working with the Oracle database: blogs.oracle.com/developers/p...

I've just found out that my application uses a REST client to invoke one of its own endpoints.

It was probably an amphimallon solstitiale, a kind of beetle commonly seen between June and July. Another one (or was it the same one?) came by tonight, and I took the time to identify it with my Camera Rune.

If I had 0.01 € for every time I saw floating point being used for money calculations, I would have 1.00000047255825585 € by now.

PSA: How not to spook a cat*. You're walking on the street. You meet a cat, and you don't want it to run away, scared: 1. Wink at it once or twice, while you're still far away. 2. Pretend you didn't see it; possibly, look another way. 3. Still don't look**. * According to my personal experience.

Last night, that lazy, clumsy cat caught a cute, green-brown beetle. It all began with some painful meowing: she was crying, because her prey was neither running nor flying away. The beetle, standing in the middle of the kitchen, was put outside and given some headstart.
