I also highly recommend the resources at the Gutenberg Times, and everything else @bph.social does. :-) gutenbergtimes.com

I'd suggest starting with the native Gutenberg block editor. This lesson plan is intended for someone teaching what you probably want to learn, but it's detailed enough that it's almost as a good as a tutorial: learn.wordpress.org/lesson-plan/...

The newest default theme included with WP (Twenty Twenty-Five) is very flexible, so you probably don't need to get into code, but the simplest entry point to that might be creating a child theme and learning how theme.json works. developer.wordpress.org/themes/globa...

You're not wrong about that, sadly. What are you trying to learn? If you are looking for DIY tuts that aren't marketing, wp.org is a good place to start — lots of docs and tutorials for all kinds of things geared to different levels of experience. There's also: www.meetup.com/wordpressnyc/

How interesting and ironic if the West has largely been pacified and people have lost the capacity to assert their will.

The whole context for violence, politics, class etc has changed so much in a short time, I don't think anyone has a handle on it. Violent and non-violent protest worked in the past against states that could not monopolize violence or at least neutralize the media.

Oh yes! Some rabbits have got a vicious streak a mile wide! They're killers — on land, and in the air!

Nice! I need to check back in with GP/GB. One of my oldest lifetime memberships... and Alberta-based in Calgary. 🇨🇦😊 Is Tom Usborne on BlueSky? I don't see him.

My earliest memory of the WEC is tied to the also-beautiful and eccentric Volkswagen maintenance manual he mentions here. My dad had both stacked together, and they sucked me in. It was this one: How to keep your Volkswagen alive. www.amazon.ca/How-Keep-You...

"Peace is not the product of terror or fear. Peace is not the silence of cemeteries. Peace is not the silent result of violent repression. Peace is the generous, tranquil contribution of all to the good of all. Peace is dynamism. Peace is generosity. It is right and it is duty."

Another great post; thank you. I am surprised I'd not heard of Franklin before. Here statement on peace that you close with reminds me of Oscar Romero's.

Boring?! Coords' site slogan should be "The WordPress banquet blog."

Nah, boomer parents disowned ca. 2015 get to die alone in their sins. Embracing the arsonists as the world burns is the very definition of slave morality. Good luck with that. The same snakes will bite you again. People need to work for their redemption, no easy jeezus cheez whiz grace, no sirree.
