Bluntly put; this isn’t about the policy (deliberately punitive) or what it echoes (Powell- and echoes are subjective, and plenty of us heard it), the words on their own are outrageous. We have not caused incalculable damage. And has lost Labour votes they desperately needed.

Think next week’s numbers will be different- and not in a good way for Labour.

A diet of people who in the main opposed Brexit and indeed… did know better?
comment in response to post
This is presumably the same assemblage of people who thought Brexit was a stellar idea, and now regret that choice. Maybe we’re seeing that they’re a barometer of poor judgement rather than anything else.

It was a shock to wake up today and find out that I, and millions of others have done incalculable damage to this country.

I’ve complained to my MP. I have not done “incalculable damage” to this country.

Not knowing how the Library of Congress works should be a compulsory reason for your removal from office.

I always pictured Nynaeve and Elayne’s “tea” session as just being a euphemism for liquor. 😉

FFS. What’s he going to do if they’re a party donor?
comment in response to post
Thing is though- plenty of the people in those places know Brexit was a colossally stupid idea, so might think twice about backing its architect?

Erm. I’m not your son, unless my mum lied to me?! Oh my! Is this my revelation?!

There’s an echo in here. Enjoy!

Erm; it’s a bible, but it’s not whatever was expressed originally. At best it’s a copy with all the frailties of humanity. Or have you never played the telephone game?

I’m not sure you understand exposure either, be wary on beaches.

You think a translation of a translation of a transcription of a tale is proof. And then claim it as fact. It’s cute, up until you then think it excuses behaviour. That is just silly
comment in response to post
I just did; what you put up isn’t the Holy Bible. It’s a translation, of a written word transcribed by someone who wasn’t a witness. I assure you, your hearsay would not be admissible in court. Your faith, sure, but not proof.
comment in response to post
I’m pretty sure that’s not what was proclaimed. Certainly not in English. Maybe if you really wanted to understand it you’d invest a bit of time and effort and go learn the language in which it was proclaimed? Or is that too- you know- hard?
comment in response to post
I refer you to the circular argument: demanding proof; bad at science.
comment in response to post
Science: not your forté.

Thank you for giving me a good chortle.
comment in response to post
Lol. Proof and faith are a hilarious combo.

I’m certainly not your bro in a byblical sense, but because of changes to language and society, I understand your point. Secondly; I pointed out that translations in contracts are often inaccurate and challenged in court.
comment in response to post
They’re not claiming a moral certitude, and certainly are up to being challenged in court. Suggest you have a trawl through some court dockets.
comment in response to post
Think you might want to; translations are subject to interpretation and language limitations. Because: change. Nothing is static, as you’ve admitted… take the next little step…

Can you give me the original Hebrew? You’re using the wrong language.
comment in response to post
You spelt mum wrong. Or has it changed? Things… can change?

I sort of enjoy that he is so beholden to his paymasters that he can’t get away without genuflecting. This will be part of his trial.

Surely a five second search on any search engine would tell whoever wrote that how things turned out?
