News in the US is very strange to me. To me, news is where you have half an hour of brief, mostly bias free, reporting of the major headlines. Not round the clock, panel like, biased debates and opinion forming, heavily influenced by popular ratings.

Yes! I think it was Tropico 3 where this was possible. You could have all your people be uneducated, living in slums, barely surviving, while working at luxury hotels, for example. The later versions moved away from this and you didnt really have a choice but to build "optimal" or "well rounded".

Trump threw away the cards when he suspended aid to Ukraine, publicly said Zelensky should forget about getting land back, forget about joining the NATO or EU. Those were cards that couldve been used during oeace negotiations.

The post does not mention damaged food products, which are fine to sell, but expired food products. And yes, you can eat slightly expired food, but you cant sell it. Why? Because food health officials deemed it so. A person may make that judgement to eat expired food, but a seller can not.

It is not a positive idea, though. Selling expired food is against the law. Are the poor supposed to be grateful they get to pay less for what isnt acceptable to be sold? It *sounds* positive, but is abhorrent.
Subtitute it for other products: pay less rent for condemned buildings, for example.

You dont get a deal done by giving them all they want, unconditionally, and then hope they agree to compromise. You include what they want in the deal, in exchange for what you want. The "greatest dealmaker in the world" should know that.
