I dunno, I really dug The Phoenician Scheme! Not my favorite of the year so far, but I laughed a lot. Also, an alt-history Calouste Gulbenkian was probably the last thing I was expecting to see in theaters this year. Haha.

So happy to see Habemus Papam from @saltandpeppergames.bsky.social in @senetmagazine.bsky.social . Thanks to @danthurot.bsky.social , who also wrote an article about Onoda on Senet #9.

The thing I love about Indie Game Night Market is how low the barrier to entry truly is 🎲✂️ You don’t even have to have more than a few sentences describing the game to submit! No rules, sellsheets, or anything! @dnlnwmn.bsky.social has set up a straightforward system so *anyone* can submit a game.

The Battle of the Divas is a spiritual sequel to last year's The Battle of Versailles, and while it's somewhat more complicated than that game, it recaptures its catty spirit and cultural relevance. My preview: spacebiff.com/2025/06/04/t...

Shackleton Base takes us to the moon — NOT MARS, I must remind myself — to establish a crater colony. It's the good stuff. My review: spacebiff.com/2025/06/03/s...

Issue 19 is out now! In which @danthurot.bsky.social explores the push-your-luck genre, with the creators of Flip 7, The Quacks of Quedlinburg and Wonderland’s War. (Illustration by Renaud Vigourt.) #boardgamesarebeautiful

Woodlanders is another trick-taker from @dnlnwmn.bsky.social, featuring a poison-pill draft and some combo-building. My review here: spacebiff.com/2025/06/02/w...

Had a slower week, but a mighty one all the same. What did you get to the table?

Skara Brae takes us to a settlement five thousand years ago, which built and thrived atop a foundation of garbage. It is an unexpectedly clear look at a distant time and place. My review: spacebiff.com/2025/05/29/s...

Dan never ceases to provide insightful commentary around our dear hobby. He also has mad title game @cyberdack.bsky.social

The new Legendary Edition of Cyclades is both more and less than a straight remake, tweaking the classic formula with its new map, gods, and heroes. It showcases what made Cyclades special in 2009, while also introducing some new issues. My review: spacebiff.com/2025/05/28/c...

Vibes by @xoe.gay is a gentle, low-stakes game about seating students so that they'll vibe with each other. It's a pleasantly unusual game, although I wish it had gone further in characterizing its students. My review: spacebiff.com/2025/05/27/v...

Don't let anybody tell you it's gotta be perfect that first try. It can be stupid, instead.

The Sages said: Then let them die.

Had a lovely week. What did you get to the table?

Sometimes the Wilmot's Warehouse clues write themselves.

Thing Thing is another title by @dvcgames.bsky.social, this time tackling the party game format, making for laugh-out-loud arguments that aren't quite as wild or special as the studio's other efforts. My review: spacebiff.com/2025/05/21/t...

High Tide 🌊🐚 is now available for pre-order!!! 🚨This is not a drill!! Go buy it!!🚨 www.underdoggames.com/pages/highti...

Ofrenda is a pleasant but somewhat empty game about arranging a shrine for your departed relatives. I wish it had shown more spirit. My review: spacebiff.com/2025/05/20/o...

Give this one a listen! Well worth your time. (And not only because I got shouted out.)
