Ngā mihi e hoa 🫶 I’m lucky to be in a position where I’m comfortable to talk about my experience. They are intentionally attacking vulnerable populations 😡

So if I do my report that’s one week of therapy I don’t get, affecting two weeks. If they then reject it that’s another session I lose. That’s essentially 3 weeks without support I then get. My theory is they are making the processes intentionally hostile so they can then point to drop-out numbers

This is now something that is required to continue receiving ACC funded trauma therapy. I was lucky my partner was able to take a day off to come and support me during and after the appointment but not everyone is in that position. This process will only harm those who are already vulnerable.

What this is is a 2 hour in-depth conversation with a therapist who isn’t your own going over your history. The traumatic event, any self harm or s*icidal events no matter when in your life it was. Many find this too re-traumatising and opt to leave therapy instead of going through it.

Also just to clarify- my therapist and I have to do progress reports about my c-ptsd recovery every few months. ACC are rejecting these and making people re-do/ amend them at a much higher rate. These take entire sessions. Also they are making people do re-assessments with external providers

Thank you- they’ve multiplied now! She must’ve told the dog how nice and warm it was in front of the fire 😅

We have to get comfortable with THEIR discomfort. Seymour et al are introducing laws that are basically "it's illegal to disagree with me". Guess we're all going to have to break some laws then I guess!

The truth is, we're dealing with a government who's guiding principle is "Fuck you". They're not going to have a revelatory moment where they start giving a shit, and they're relying on respectability norms to keep doing what they're doing.
They're going to squeal at every bit of pushback.

This govt has made it increasingly difficult to retain the help that those covered by SC are entitled to. I wouldn’t be surprised if they started to point out the drop-out rate & full waitlists as a means for privatisation. It’s straight out of Seymour and his friends’ playbook

I’m hoping that New Zealand is on the next tour cycle 🤞🏽 one year and one month ago I flew solo to Melbourne for 3days just to have the chance to see them live and by some fate (and ticket negotiations with friends) I started with a nosebleeds ticket and ended up in the pit having the time of my life

Oh oh also between my biblical knowledge and my partner’s classics knowledge the lyrical analysis has been going hard. We spent a whole afternoon listening to Damocles last week while she explained the story of Damocles and Dionysus and its deeper meaning/ what the lyrics could mean

So yeah, I’m really excited for my exclusive red marble vinyl to arrive hopefully on Monday. Even more excited to move back home and be able to play it on our new record player!! We get plumbing next week!

Only in a neurodivergent relationship can you yell “HUH WOOP!” from the other side of the house and have it be a call of endearment. That and the bird-call-ish trill we have for each other that was a vocal stim of mine when we first started dating that kinda just stuck 🤭😅

Also I’ve loved all of the singles and they fit in so perfectly with the album. But also the “HUH, WOOP!” from Emergence has been a vocal stim for the past few weeks that my partner and I have been exchanging in passing 🤭

Gethsemane is the garden where Jesus went to pray after the last supper before his crucifixion. Where he pleaded so hard that he sweat blood before being betrayed by Judas and arrested while praying for his suffering to be taken away. Apparently my bible studies did come in handy eventually

My Christian upbringing really came in clutch with the lyric analysis my brain was doing in double speed 😅 I need the sheet music with lyrics included like right now to do a proper deep dive but wow. Naming a song about an unrequited love Gethsemane is so wild 🤯

No words, an innovative masterpiece of an album. They’ve further refined the mix of metal and r&b and it sounds incredible. The opening and closing track are perfect. To casually end the album with the nastiest deathcore breakdown while having a song with an entire cello(?) solo is a wild contrast 🤯

Second this! Also the museum is apparently undertaking some huge changes soon to the Ao Māori area so it will be good to see the Ao Māori section before they overhaul it (I’ve been told it will be closed for a few years)
