No I very much am contesting the central claim: “Lifesaving” is a perfectly reasonable way to describe a treatment that reduces depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation in a population with high rates of all three!

Are you there today? If so, the Mavericks are playing there. The best Latin/alt-country band you'll ever see. Heck, on of the best bands in any genre you'll ever see.

Jennifer and I were lucky enough to see Petty on that same tour, in May 2017 in Urbana, IL (where I first saw him in 1982). The more I learn about him, the more I love him and his music.

Why does everyone treat this guy like he's a kid? He's 33, not 12. I know things have changed, but when I was his age, people in their 30s were in the thick of their careers. In the law biz, a lot of 33 year olds were partners in huge law firms handling really complex matters.

My aunt was a Sinsinawa Dominican and when we went to her funeral at the Mound in the fall of 2003, all the nuns had bumper stickers on their cars that said “I have family in Iraq.”

I remember it well. Once when I got off the el at the end of the day the bank clock on the corner said it was 106° and I thought, it’s so hot out, it fried the display … only to find out that it was, in fact, 106°.

For a minute I thought that said Social Distortion and we were naming states’ favorite punk bands. I had newfound respect for Wisconsin, only to have it dashed once again.
