I feel the same. Claude + code is the workflow I'm most happy with.

I'd take the community's opinions on those games fairly lightly. Paradox games are sort of living organisms. There is really never a bad time to play them if you enjoy that style of game. Most folks don't put in the thousand hours to understand the deep mechanics anyway.

I remember the achievement system being a lot of fun to come up with. We'd later refine that concept with GB quests, which similarly disappeared because of a rebuild.

It was so long ago, but I designed unions with Greg, and then worked on it with Steve and I think @gpbmike.bsky.social? Like everything else I touch, it was maybe a little too early and complex for the average user. I remember sitting in meetings and having to say "what about the headcrab union?".

Sort of related. I love Clive Owen wearing flip flops throughout Children of Men because he lost his shoes.

Then of course I'm like... I wonder what other Bottom of the Hill concerts were recorded? Sure enough, I'm pretty sure I went to this Joy Formidable concert with @frailgesture.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=waZm...

I love that you're still jamming on this problem.

I think the problem with smart home related things is it sort of requires these walled software systems in combo with ever outdated hardware. Look at Sonos, which had a very large jump in the space. I'm still using "v1" stuff 10 years after it was obsolete.

Yeah. I really prefer playing in person. COVID made me appreciate digital maps though. I just don't like the "gameyness" playing with VTTs that handle rolls can be. I have no interest in building those features.

Yeah, I also provide the source. That's basically a blanket like... you don't need to trust me, if it's a good enough product people need, someone will just take it over.

It also makes me feel solid about the product proposition and the quality this early. This is a tool people will use and see long term value in.

Tie that dog down and give it a blood test.

It is the perfect movie right now. I watch it once a year.

Very clearly this dog is a ghost that wants you off his train.

I was 17 and a student when I saw it in Japan! Had no idea what I was walking into. Japan had reserved seats waaaay before us. The poor attendant had to explain I was in the wrong seat. Barely understood what anyone was saying but it was still awesome.
