I remember 1976, and TV news reporting that nobody should leave their homes unless necessary because the temperature could reach...28C

Don't think so. I can see his account.

Actually, she moved to Italy in 2007 so would have had a refererendum vote because she hadn't been out of UK for 15 years. But as you rightly say, 3 million of the 5 million Brits abroad, including nearly two-thirds of us in EU27, were deliberately disenfranchised. Disgraceful & undemocratic.

Look at Carney's face! 🤣

Then we just show our EU residence card along with our passports and are not subject to checks. As Gibraltarians flying from UK will do. The Gib residence card will act the same way as ours.

I'm a bit confused. What scenario are you envisaging? As a Brit resident in Spain under the WA, if I fly to another Schengen country, there are no border controls or passport stamps. As part of a Common Travel Area with Schengen, it's the same for Gib residents. What am I missing in understanding?

No, actually, Niall. Officially, Gibraltar residents will still be subject to 90/180 but, exactly like those of us Brits resident in EU, it would be impossible to check as long as we/they don't leave Schengen. (Confirmed by the chief minister in the TV interview on GBC Viewpoint, which is online).

Sorry, not at all a criticism, but...<whispers> just so you know, they're Gibraltarians not Gibraltans.

Yes; we also have a number of 'Vías Verdes', which you can walk, cycle or horse ride, along stretches of railway which were planned but never completed. Which is very nice, but then so are trains!

I'm hoping for a similar one in Rome! 🤣

Here’s the gate display I can’t wait to see again at Barajas …

It's morning. I want to be awake 🤣 That does look good; the perfect breakfast!

Flights, probably. Trains unlikely: the nearest stations to Gibraltar are Algeciras and Estación de San Roque, so some distance away. There is no railway along the coast westward after Fuengirola, unfortunately, although it's something that has been called for since the 1980s.

Very probable, I'd say. There were flights between Madrid and Gibraltar for a short time as a result of the ill-fated Córdoba Agreement of 2006, and I imagine it would be quite a popular route for business and leisure.

Thank you! Morning coffee always feels like a treat, so two seems positively luxurious 🤣

I walk, dance & swim & yes, it does help in general. But when I'm trapped with loud strangers taking up my space for hours, making demands, so much noise, and everyone around me including pets is hysterical and nothing calms them, it freaks me out. I try not to show it, but it gets to me afterwards.

Sending supportive vibes 🤗 Feel free to rant on here while it's going on, if it helps...

Refreshing admission, thank you. Far too many people without a clue about Gibraltar like to pose as experts 😏

But you're not. You keep talking about Gibraltar residents/residence, which is exactly what we haven't been talking about. But that's OK; everyone gets their fun where they can. Just don't be disappointed when nobody wants to play with you any more.

You know, this feels a bit like some of us on here start discussing unidentified flying objects, and then you join in, talking about scheduled flights out of Heathrow. Like parallel universes. It's very hard to follow your thought processes. Your comments are on different subjects to ours 🤷
