For those not familiar, here's the opening paragraph in the Wikipedia entry for the term "remigration," a term which popped up in Europe over a decade ago and until very recently has not been part of the U.S. political discourse. It is NOT a neutral term. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remigra...

Bluesky, settle this for me. Is it pronounced "mack-inations" or "mash-inations"?

I’ve told the story many times. Now @katemasur.bsky.social and I have filed it in federal court: Free Black Americans were first to recognize BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP in the US. When denied it, they fought to secure it. They show us what the 14th Amendment meant and what it meant to live without it.

The people running this country think like they're in a Frank Miller comic. One of the really bad ones. I can't wait for RFK Jr's new child nutrition plan, "eat rats in a cave".

Gonna give y'all some freebie headlines: MUSK DEPARTS, LEAVING TRAIL OF DESTRUCTION, DEFICITS, AND DEATHS MUSK SCORECARD: EMPTY PROMISES, FEDERAL WORKFORCE BRAIN DRAIN MUSK'S LEGACY: CAREER CIVIL SERVANTS REPLACED WITH INCOMPETENT WHITE NATIONALISTS DOGE HARMS WILL PERSIST FOR GENERATIONS

I know there's *a lot* going on in the world right now, but I wish I saw more coverage/discussion of the #Georgia protests from politically minded Blueskiers. Though I kinda wish we had more world news coverage in general instead of arguing about that hack Jake Tapper's book or whatever.

Can we not? Also if anyone wants a refresher on the Chinese Exclusion Act, it’s lecture 3 (along with Japanese internment) in Forgotten America on the Great Courses & Audible. 🗃️ bit.ly/GunterGC

With the Disco reappraisal and everything, are Earth Wind and Fire cool again? 🤔

How do famous right-wing influencers actually poll with young men in 2025? Rogan: 27% favorable, 35% unfavorable, 45% don't know/never heard of Theo Von: 21% fav, 16% unfav, 55% dk Andrew Tate: 12% fav, 47% unfav, 36% dk Source: iop.harvard.edu/youth-poll/5...

I've never enjoyed the pre-release discourse/speculation/delusion cycle, so despite it being possibly my favorite game, I will stay mum on the supposed Persona 4 remake. Though I'd absolutely laugh like a madman if it turns out to be a Persona 4 *Arena* remake.😆

All those years of extending sympathy to "everyman" characters whose crackpot beliefs are just a sign of how corrupt and untrustworthy "The Government" is are now biting us fully in the ass. Too few people are realizing too late that actually the government is responsible for a lot of us not dying.

I will never understand why the media feels the need to whitewash RFK Jr constantly. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

People have focused on the kook aspects of RFK Jr in a way that obscured his authoritarianism and cruelty. But he’s genuinely an enemy of freedom and basic decency. He’s a narcissist, a eugenicist, and a predator.

"We have to address male loneliness!" the talking heads say, as my mother is forced at gunpoint to marry Goblinfucker1337. "They're too powerless and ostracized from society!"

I do not think people are actually seriously calibrated for how rabidly anti-university the MAGA right is and how core that is to their policy goals. It is probably the #2 issue after immigration for them, and for some of them it’s higher.

At this point, we may as well be designing rockets in Kerbal Space Program. At least those were good for a laugh.

No matter how slippery the SpaceX fans get in their defenses ("you don't understand, we learned so much!") the fact is these tests are waaaaay past the "experiments sometimes fail" stage. These are tests of what's supposed to be a working design and build. But it doesn't work. It blows up.

"Jesus Jake, I'm sorry I forgot to pick up the milk!" "You should be, honey! This is worse than Watergate in some ways! Now if you were an alcoholic, I'd be more easily able to forgive you."

Oh, this is a fun one. I think mine would be.... Schindler's List Harakiri 12 Angry Men Now, Voyager Young Frankenstein Honorable Mentions: Gaslight and All About Eve.

I recently gave DOOM Eternal another try in prep for The Dark Ages, and I tried to like it, I really did, but it always felt like it had changed *just enough* from 2016 to negate that game's strengths while not changing enough to introduce any new ones. Felt more like a mission pack than a sequel.

We already have a Joe Rogan of the left
