I love the Phillies, The Office, and anyone who can do a decent Christopher Walken impersonation.

3.65 ERA over his career isn’t bad but his WHIP is WAY too high to translate any sort of success at the big league level. And at age 27, I wouldn’t expect any sort of revelation. Organizational depth I guess.

Who/when was the last non Barry player to hit 30 HRs for the Giants?

I’m 45 and I don’t recall that. Had to look it up. More likely have to be 50-55 at the youngest to really remember that.

I still stand firm that the Mets’ pitching success will not sustain. Too many mid starters in that rotation. Not even the Braves’ staffs with Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz ever had an ERA below 3.

Posey’s numbers would’ve been so much better if he played elsewhere. It’s a testament to how good he was. When was the last time the Giants had a 30 HR season? 21 years ago? Devers won’t reach 30 playing 81 games in that ballpark.

I can’t get the link to open, but in reality, he was signed to be the team’s DH. Things changed. Is he a great fielder? No, but I can’t really blame him. I think he works hard considering when he signed the contract, he probably was’t expecting to play in the field much.

@phillies.com you guys should take a page from the Nats and other teams as well that offer these interactions. Ending the ALS Phestival was disgraceful. Fans don’t care if the players didn’t like it. It was a couple of hours of their time.

Bullpen is going to be the downfall of this team. I said it very early in the season. It has to be rebuilt and it’s too late in the season to do it. Best case scenario is they trade for a mid closer like Bednar or Pagan as band aids, but that won’t be good enough come playoffs.

That question was a layup. So she very likely missed it.

Up in the distance the game’s dragging on
There’s strikes on the batter, some runners are on
When suddenly everyone’s looking at me
My mind is a-wondering what could it be
They all point to the sky and I look up above
And a baseball falls into my glove

Eh, they’re all guys with career ERAs north of 4. Still doesn’t change my analysis. I’m not saying they’re a bad team by any means. I expect positive regression from their offense. My point is just regarding how dominant their SP has been and that it likely won’t continue 🤷🏻♂️

Who? I genuinely don’t know the depth of the Mets roster. My analysis is based on their current 5 man rotation.

LOL. I wouldn’t expect a rational response.

If they do I’ll eat my words. See my prior reply as to my reasoning. I’m not trying to be a dick. I’m a mathematician and baseball is a game of regression to the mean. Is it possible? Anything is possible. But odds are low. Not saying they’re a bad team. Just that their pitching can’t sustain.

Holmes has never thrown 64 innings in a single season
Senga is unlikely to maintain an ERA below 1.50
Canning and Megill’s ERAs are basically both a full run below their career averages
Baseball is a game of regression to the mean. Odds are that those 4 can’t all keep their domination going 🤷🏻♂️

I honestly don’t think there was intent. But I think there will be retaliation, as there should be. And that might spice things up even more between the two teams. 🤣

I don’t think there was intent tbh. But regardless I think there will be retaliation at some point. As well there should be.

They could do two separate trades. Maybe trade Abel for a reliever. And then swap Ranger for a prospect or two.
