I choose to remember her like this. A bizarre dog who made all kinds of sounds, was exited just to be near you, and absolutely LOVED food in all its forms. Paris you were the goodest of dogs. I will miss you more than breathing.

There are so so many mistakes you make as a parent. So many regrets. She helped us to learn through all of it and I am a better pet parent to Pixel because of her. As she got older, she ran less loops around the backyard, but occasionally would still surprise us with a bolt towards a squirrel.

I’d be pretty wary of this tbh. Apple already tried the ‘bolt-on’ approach to AI with Siri. The question on my mind is why is it that 15 years post-acquisition Apple has not managed to build the engineering roster and culture necessary?

there's every opportunity to say it 'can' work, but at current i don't see much will to do so from the majority of either camp. it will be a labor of love from a minority to bridge that gap with the same FOSS tragedy of the commons funding issues we've seen all along

atproto & pds's can absolutely provide a great augmentation to the identity layer and cryptocurrencies can support content creators and commerce of all kinds. there's an immediate PMF possible when it comes to governance

similarly, i think the crypto crowd has been holding onto CT a little too tightly as it's a comfort zone with established in-group reach. they're a little too afraid to sell to normies which is why you don't see many on tiktok either.

among the early adoption crowd, i've found bsky to be pretty hostile against crypto as a whole, which is a shame considering there are many points of reasonable alignment.

Pocket almost made sense for a minute. All part of browser loss aversion systems. Today it makes more sense to replace it, bookmarks, and idle tabs with an AI summary system that recaps the content during downtime when users are unwinding.

I suffer strongly from the ‘post it now’ syndrome. It does make me wonder though, if a platform actively promoted timed posts, would that lead to a more binary outcome?

Totally right. I was interpreting and trying to express it as a user need. Just trying to gather some ideas of how to make Bluesky better. Would you want to express it differently or add some other feature wishes? There's def a value in making the system more comprehensible for sure!

If we are going to reach a consensus view to prevent the goalpost from shifting, it's important to have a separate rubrics for network, protocol, and application. I've provided a few for the protocol, but I would love to know what you would add to any layer. Thanks for reading this far!

Also, it is reasonable to consider ATProto independently from Bluesky and that both are worthy of attention.

I hope that I'm starting to make the case that while decentrali(s|z)ation is absolutely worthy of examination and concern, it is not reasonable to ask a singular person or even a small group of people to present a holistic, objective view.
