I don’t know of a single military intervention in the last 70 years that hasn’t turned into a cluster fuck: Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq… they are never one and done.

Well, they are kind of meaningless in this administration.

Are those grown from seeds? Are they annuals? Just curious (thinking about next year)

The rural hospitals in KY are in MAGA areas (87-year old Congressman Hal Rogers’ district). The large university and for profit hospitals are in Democratic urban areas, such as Louisville (Democrat Morgan McGarvey’s district). Funny how that works.

I remember Trump contradicting Dan Coats a lot- Russian involvement in the election, Isis in Syria - a bunch of other stuff. Not defending TG, just saying that this is par for the course- he only believes what supports his current beliefs.

That’s how I remember him- like Sinema or Manchin - screwing over the American people and to appease some corporate overlords.

Those knowledgeable fans follow players as they go into the WNBA which has built itself from the increasing popularity of the college game. In my city, the interest in both levels is obvious. But that may be because my friends are mostly women who are proud to see women competing at this level.

I’m sure there are some fans that don’t know much. Nonetheless, the popularity of women’s b-ball has grown significantly in the college game. The NCAA women’s tournament is now as popular (if not more so) than the men’s which would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.

It’s just a weird comparison. I would also suggest that many new WNBA fans are knowledgeable about basketball and have recently become interested in professional women’s b-ball, because the level of the game is so much higher (which relates to the poor officiating which hasn’t kept up).

Do you think Trump agreed to throw Ukraine under the bus in exchange for Putin to throw Iran under the bus?

If there had been a comparable nationwide protest from the right with the same numbers as the nokings protests, we all know they would open carry weapons and be extremely dangerous.

At my @50501movement.bsky.social protest in Louisville, organizers claimed to represent a broad coalition but that wasn’t apparent in the speeches.

At the #nokings protest in
Louisville with more than 4k people in attendance (which was huge for this city), Congressman @morganmcgarvey.bsky.social
delivered an inspiring speech that showed he was aware of how fucked up our govt in Washington DC is- so some are aware- but maybe powerless?
comment in response to

The NYTS half assed coverage of the protests was to be expected - but dammit, it angers me that they are so out of touch. The coverage should still continue considering the numbers of people who protested. What other past nationwide protest even compares? Shame on the NYts indeed.

How do you manage to both sides this? Wtf is wrong with you? The protests should still be front page coverage. They were massive. When was the last time the entire country engaged in protests of 10 million people? The anger is everywhere - and you’re not getting it!

At my protest- lots of speeches- some took way too long (how about a limit of 5-10 minutes for every speaker)? And I saw people getting really turned off by the shouting at the crowd by speakers who went on and on and on… I couldn’t wait to walk, tbh. Otoh, the size of the crowd was amazing.

That isn’t true. The message is that Democrats embrace, respect, and support diverse, law abiding, communities because “this is what democracy looks like”.

She’s horrifying, true. But the exceptions do not change the general idea- that there needs to be balance and that the way women communicate might be more effective.
comment in response to

Stephen is asking for a balance -which there never has been in the history of humankind. People keep listing about 4 women on these posts -as if these exceptions make the general sentiment of his post illogical.

Some women. Like, maybe a better balance? Maybe there would be better communication, less macho reactive bullshit? Read the damned post.

I’d love to see additional video of him seated before he stands up to ask his questions- to give more context of where he was in the room- to push back the “charging” accusation.

Hearing him on msnbc- he was screened into the building (as anyone in a federal bldg), escorted by a marine, sits in the back of the room, stands up to ask his questions- then gets dragged out.
