Somehow only in the Year of Our Luigi 2025 I've learned that the retail Atomic Edition of "Duke Nukem 3D" has a damn disc check at the start of the game, and will just insta-quit if the CD is not in the drive! 😯

Commercial DOS games still happen occasionally, but I don't know what the last DOS game that was sold in a retail outlet was because it is most likely some obscure release in a non-English speaking country. A place where tech was a bit behind. And these titles aren't as well documented.

I have no idea to this day how many games were on that DOS shareware compilation CD. Truth is, I don’t want to know. Some things are better left unsaid. I’d like to think that the number was so large, it can’t be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it.

I use the word "ratio" a hell of a lot more than the word "ration", and yet for some reason every time I go to type "aspect ratio" my fingers automatically type "aspect ration". 🤷‍♂️

Beta 0.8 R3 is out; there was a lockup in the nav screen with joystick controls enabled - now fixed! You can also calibrate joysticks in the launcher via Alt-J (like the original game); useful if it's out of whack for whatever reason. More improvements on the way... alltinker.itch.io/wcat
