Had a robot try to find the data...

You did not just post that without a source right? Are my eyes deceiving me? Why does it look like the AI results you get from hitting enter after a prompt or the first page of a Google result. Surely the investors of an AI platform have incentive to show data that makes them look bad, right?

No one is hating the good ones. Like when people say "all men need to stop doing XYZ harmful thing". I know ALL aren't like that, and I also know the speakers aren't talking to ME. You're implying we don't comprehend nuance, and that assumption isn't what I expect from an intelligent person.

That is genuinely sick, I love it! I hope to be able to do art in just one program alone someday 😍

Nailed it! Our trick is that flowery language and flowery aesthetics, or in this case infernal rather than flowery, can have an effect on the way you feel and that in turn can affect action. We ALSO would try to explain that we don't actually believe in magic, though some love to commit to the bit

Because we gave a custom definition for our psychodrama. The title of Satanist has a ring to it that outsiders have a 'perception' of regardless of Satanist's beliefs. We capitalize on that and our mysticism has worked time and time again. What can I say? LaVey was a carnie, he brings the show πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

We don't believe that it is magic, we call it that so laypeople react better. You're almost playing into it yourself taking it so seriously

TST brought me to all of this first, even if I am CoS. I still love the protesting and helping out (even if my methods differ) but both orgs are bent on having us fight each other, despite the fact that neither seems to be going anywhere anytime soon. We can still learn from all of it. It's history

They also admitted to me that they aren't really in the mood to understand or respect it. Hey, THEY posted in a place where people could see it, even people they don't respect

I tried to explain it, it seems both belief and identity are playing a bigger role for him. Luckily, I think this opportunity for discourse can still do good, after all - anyone who sees the feed sees the discussion

TST can do a ritual in front of a political building, but we can't do them in our homes? For ourselves?
comment in response to post
Why do you keep saying we're pretending it's real?

... After all, it is a feed topic and anybody who believes what any of us believes has a chance of stumbling across this entire thread

I'm here so that the conversation about satanism gets a little extra perspective

I'm not asking you to, this conversation helps more for anyone who finds it then me trying to convince you of anything

Religion isn't rational, it's not supposed to be, because humans aren't even rational. We would be computers without the creative side / subconscious and spirituality capitalizes on that hard. Religion is just a formalized aspect of all that, OUR goal is to just find less harmful ways to enjoy it

This is the problem - I said We know there's no such thing as magic, in the most unfair and simple description it's just theater plus applied psychology. To make it easier to understand we just call it something fancy, but nobody ever listens. Hear magic word, magic, magic word bad

We're going to make the ones that actually can listen to reason just go further towards the other side when we go calling them stupid or crazy for choosing to undertake a belief like that. I mean I know people who believe in d&d a little too hard, I don't go on a rant about how unreasonable they are
comment in response to post
Listen to those first two sentences, that is the most alienating stuff I've heard. There are rational Christians, hell there are rational people in every religious community, and some people join because of the community and the Good vibes rather than the strict ideals. They CAN be reasonable

I'm not here to argue or troll. I saw Satanism on my feed, I'm one, I popped in to clarify some stuff from my particular camp

Political action is ok but that should be something YOU do. You're not helping a cause by giving Christians an extra layer of infernal glaze to hate on. In fact, you could probably get some of them to support the things that you want to see in society if you weren't busy scaring them away
comment in response to post
Just look at the past 4 years, we're almost on the verge of another satanic panic because there are people in the daylight waving baphomet flags saying Satan supports this or that. The religious community community is in fear thinking that the world is LITERALLY coming to an end because Satan's back
comment in response to post
And you're not helping causes you believe in by attaching it to the devil's name. If anything you're giving Christians stronger reasons to hate on and dislike the things that we're trying to do. Political action should be something you personally do not something you congregate a religion around
comment in response to post
Also, it's only called magic because the explanation is a mouthful for people who never read the Book of Leviathan + it adds a layer of mysticism to it. The mysticism facade is why people on the outside talk like it's some Harry Potter hand wavy voodoo

Same for movie-verses, plays, novels, game, fandoms. We give the emotion and process of 'ritualizing' a fancy name, the world calls it crazy... Religion can have its place in the world when done with sincerity.

But the history is CoS stuff, TST does the imagery part mostly
