Unfortunately, multiple sclerosis does not get better if you just try harder.

Farage: “The original agreement was shocking, and it’s been an uphill battle ever since.” I'm old enough to remember Farage standing down his party to step in 100s of Tory constituencies in 2019 to ensure Johnson gov't was in a position to deliver this "shocking agreement".🧐~AA

The absolute state of the EHRC leadership. Really encouraging to see a Commons committee and in particular staff standing up to its mendacious legally illiterate bullshit. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

I expect and hope that @libdems.org.uk and @eddavey.libdems.org.uk read this

The Prime Minister imitating Enoch Powell’s ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech is sickening. That speech fuelled decades of racism and division. Echoing it today is a disgrace. It adds to anti-migrant rhetoric that puts lives at risk. Shame on you, Keir Starmer.

The real tragedy is that Island of Strangers would have made a perfectly decent title for a Booker -nominated novel and they've spaffed it on nativism instead.

If the Government doesn’t introduce a higher Carer’s Minimum Wage AND get on with reforming social care this year, both their plans for social care and immigration will fall apart. Our country deserves a comprehensive plan to fix social care - not half-baked proposals.

Nigel Farage has made it clear that Reform wants to do to our councils what Donald Trump and Elon Musk are doing to America. On behalf of local people, our new team will shine a light on what Reform councils are up to, scrutinise their actions and fight to protect local services.

Wishing Buddhists in Britain and around the world a peaceful Vesak. May this day of reflection inspire compassion, resilience, and hope.

Happy Wesak from the wonderful Chithurst Buddhist Monastery. A very special place

Absolutely this. The Green Party & Lib Dems have had hardly any media coverage on their gains from the local elections, just like always in fact. The media obsession with Reform is aiding their rise. Yes, people are crying out for change, but just one option is being rammed down our throats!

I passed through Cleveland on a Greyhound bus in 1975. My late uncle, J Raymond Smith visited the city in 1943 (on leave from Royal Air Force training in Canada) and took some photos from Cleveland Central Tower.

Hey British media, It’s no surprise that if you give Farage the run of the place, he’ll start winning. Time to do your actual jobs and start interrogating him on his Brexit shitshow, his funding, his Trumpiness, his idiotic manifesto, his real plans for the NHS… instead of drumrolling him into No.10

I had a productive call with Ursula von der Leyen this morning. We’re ready to build on our free trade relationship, bolster economic security, and work side-by-side on shared defence and security challenges. When Canada and the European Union build together, our futures are stronger.

Liberal Democrats have overtaken the Conservatives at these local elections. Now we're on track to replace them next General Election as well. People have put their faith in us because they are appalled by the Conservatives lurching to extremes and cosying up to Nigel Farage.

Hitting the Conservatives for six! 🏏 Across the country, voters are backing Liberal Democrats who go in to bat for their communities while the Conservatives leave behind nothing but chaos.

If you've got elections today, vote Liberal Democrat. Vote for local champions who'll listen, stand up for your community, and get things done.

Congratulations to Mark Carney and the Liberal Party on their election victory. The bond between Europe and Canada is strong — and growing stronger.

I am increasingly disappointed that the concerns of the #LGBTQ+ community over what the Supreme Court judgement means for them are not yet being addressed. I have written to the Government asking them to make clear how trans and non binary rights will be protected.

I have found the past 24 hours difficult. Too many people I know are now afraid of what the Supreme Court judgement will mean for them. We need clarity and we need it quickly and we need to know that their rights will be protected, with a compassionate solution.

The Trump era, summed up.

Surge in England coastlines, rivers and lakes with unsafe levels of E coli and intestinal enterococci due to sewage dumping. All done to boost profits, dividends, exec pay. Water industry controlled by companies with 1,135 criminal convictions. No director prosecuted. End the scam. Nationalise.

Unthinkable just 10 years ago: Almost 3/4 of the EU’s electricity in 2024 was from renewable energy sources and nuclear. Gas and coal electricity generation is at record low levels.

Thanks to @libdemvoice.org for this clarification. Posted in sympathy with intersex and transpeople

The Supreme Court judgement has caused concern and left people unsure what it means to them. The government must now provide further clarity and clear guidance that ensures everyone’s rights and dignity, including protecting women and trans people’s rights, as the ruling makes clear. #LibDems

@quietriotpod.bsky.social Re the #libdems. What was the problem with them not showing up last weekend to support the government with it's huge majority? I would not have liked to miss the wonderful Steve Darling MP speak at the #CAMRA members weekend in defence of pubs and brewing

💥 A new report released today shows London is now no longer one of the top 5 wealthiest cities in the world after losing a higher proportion of millionaires than anywhere other than Moscow. Lisa Nandy says Brexit is to blame.

The wait for family-size social housing is more than 100 years in parts of England. Failure of govt policies for the last 50yrs. Jobs and housing not in the same place, ideolology blocked social housing, profiteering, low wages, poverty. Let councils build houses. Need people centered policies.
