Oh, I meant to mention: I finished "Long Way Down" last week, and really loved it. The music is fantastic! I appreciate that folks have put together playlists for the "soundtrack". I'm 2/3 through "Long Way Round" and it's fascinating to watch knowing what they ran into the next trip.

Since it's Father's Day, I figured I would play around with the theme and do some drawing for fun #vonzentart

Goose Island Cordial Rye Imperial Stout and Old Irving Cordial Rye Rye Wine. A collaboration where each is good separately, but they’re even better when blended. Also, Charlie made friends with Brie, a French/Boston Terrier mix.

Seen today...

I had a lovely time at the adorably small Woodstock Pride Parade this morning! 1. Queer Bags League is peak Midwest, baby! 2. Pride Fest on Woodstock town square 3. Furries are everywhere! 4. Hey, did you know they filmed Groundhog Day in Woodstock? Because they sure as hell won't let you forget it!

Happy Dad’s Day!

The afternoon wasn't without drama as I came ->this<- close to being in a car wreck. I checked on the drivers (the silver car on the left was OK, the SUV driver was shaken up, the silver car on the right was just exasperated). I made sure an ambulance was on the way, but had to clear the roadway.

some instances of homophobia and ace-phobia(???) in life recently and the usual shithead protesters at Pride today remind me that standing up and making safer and more accepting spaces matters now more than ever. 🖌️🎨: @druidogger.bsky.social

After attending the protest this morning I went over and walked around Lake County Pride Fest in Round Lake Beach. It's in its fifth year and slowly growing. Great turnout, and a general chill and friendly crowd.

Most Midwestern possible description of the McHenry, IL No Kings event from my mom, who I'm so proud of for getting out to protest! She'd never been to a protest before this year and now has been to several. This area is about a mile long, both sides of the street filled. In a red Chicago exurb!

Great turnout at the #NoKings protest in McHenry, IL. For an area that skews red, there were so many honks of support and shouts of encouragement from passing drivers!

Let the weekend begin (suburban style)

I'm being sick for like a week where i couldn't get up of my bed, but now i feel great!! here's some benny sketches for warm up✨✨

I'm catching up on the Pride Month eps of @thevoice.dog podcast. So far the stories that have stood out are "Jumping to Conclusions" by @tiberiusrings.bsky.social and @fruitz.bsky.social (great twist and ideas) and "Splitting Hares" by @laurenrivers.bsky.social (just lovely). Several more to go!

If anyone local wants to check out a cozy and friendly pride parade this weekend, Woodstock, IL's pride parade is at 11 AM on Sunday. I'll be there!
