"trans joy" is not something cis ppl invented to oppress us. it originated from us, to express something unique to us. you're free not to like it and not to use it, but thinking it has contributed in any way to our legal and political problems is imo not realistic or productive

i understand the argument in the gay rights case, but what is the argument in the trans case? where has trans joy detracted from trans healthcare? maybe there are ppl out there arguing the former should replace the latter, but I've never seen it, and policy makers surely haven't either

these just seem orthogonal to me. the gay rights movement successfully battled enormous homophobia and mass death from aids and still partied like mad and celebrated life. it's a non-sequiter imo

i get it, but why be provocative against a subset of the trans community? they are not taking away other trans ppl's healthcare

i know what she's getting at it, but why use a term a bunch of trans ppl use to describe their own trans experience? are they the ones calling in bomb threats to hospitals and drafting transphobic legislation? aim at your actual enemies

oh yeah i remember that - the bio thing, not the discourse around it, that one passed me by somehow

it's interesting i guess how the turnaround is accelerating now. it took us a few decades to get here. otoh 5y ago centrists could not express enough disdain for "defund the police," a policy that now seems urgently necessary

sorta. it's still far enough away that it's a bit abstract, but i am glad that the bureaucracy part is completely done

i think the path depencies are so strong that it will ultimately take some of the paths being destroyed. i agree that it doesn't seem like they will forge new ones of their own initiative
