While I applaud the main message that aging doesn't mean slowing down, I'd like to add to the other message -- that the solution for active older people is to volunteer. Volunteering is wonderful. But working is just as wonderful, with additional tangible rewards added. Go #ElderWorkers.

Thanks for sharing this article, which shines a light on the issues facing the elders of the LGBTQ+ community. It strengthens my belief that meaningful work is one solution to the kind of isolation the article describes, and encourages me to keep advocating for #ElderWorkers.

Thanks for flagging the concerns. As an academic editor, I hear from clients every day that they are choosing AI for help, rather than hiring me for my "uniquely human skills". Still, I have faith in PM Carney and his team that they will find ways to use the potential of AI to strengthen Canada.

I think I saw a code of conduct in the Bluesky small print, and one or two people who approached me with questionable messages have had their accounts deleted. Dare we hope that values and ethical standards will prevail here?

As always, Knowledge continues to shine a light on the places and people who contribute texture to the social fabric, and helps us understand the threats to diverse communities.

I hope that time was devoted to considering ways in which seniors and older workers can be helped to gain and maintain digital citizenship. #ElderWorkers have much to contribute, and to teach, but are often marginalized. Let's include elders in the search for solutions in this digital age.

As a Canadian, I can't do anything concrete to help you, but you have my complete support if that helps.🙏

Thank you so much for sharing this. In a world full of vile accusations, disgusting references, crass language and rudeness, it is so calming to read these beautiful lines, and the message behind them. A lovely way to end my day.

So sorry this is the last episode. More please! Of course, sadly, we can also watch the real wildfires in the prairies right now. The firefighters and other emergency workers are appreciated, both in the show and on the ground.

A joy to spend a moment enjoying these lovely blooms. And as a bonus, I happened to be playing Mozart as background music. 🙏

Fear not! Actually your President showed grace and patience in the Oval Office and it reflected well on South Africa. As for that other guy, thanks for teaching us a new adjective to describe him. 🙏

Thank you for sharing this perspective from Ban Ki-moon, an Elder who, it must be noted, was one of those international students at Harvard! I greatly appreciate that his research is able to demonstrate that the Chinese are part of the climate solution, at a time when we all need to work together.

Any chance you can bring the party north? A whole lot of us have no plans to come down there any time soon! But we could do with some Shatner magic about now, so ride on up the hill to Vancouver when you can, please and thank you.

I'm amazed at that too, and also at the fact that the whole word seems to have finally discovered our beloved land, and we're in the news so much. I guess they're finding out that saying please and thank you is the secret to building a thriving, respectful, successful country!

Heart breaking as this tragic situation continues, and those who could end it turn their backs.

Absolutely, case by case. I'm just advocating for not stopping completely when there are 65 candles on your birthday cake!

Thanks Dr. Premat for this article that gives us words to describe PM Carney's approach to his role: "Performance of Resistance" and "Dignity as Defiance". Setting aside the King question for now, let's embrace constitutional monarchy as our model of governance that would never allow Trumpism.

I didn't know this either. Just another example of what Canada has to offer the world.

Just a quick note in response to your table, there is no longer any mandatory retirement in Canada. Canadians can apply for a government pension as early as 60, but it is a small amount and there are incentives for not applying until a later age.

I remember so many things about you but missed that "action baby" However, here's a memory. Timely, eh??
