In 24 hours I've managed to secure coverage of the first production of Twelfth Night by an all trans and non-binary cast & director in Broadway World, The Telegraph, Attitude, Them, Playbill, Metro, Pink News, The Evening Standard and even GB news (points for even getting them to mention trans joy).

So proud to be doing the press, marketing & PR for this ✨

As a disabled writer, nothing brought me more joy than watching this week's Doctor Who episode in which disabled people - and specifically disabled community - are the ones with the clarity and organisation to try to bring down a harmful system.

Book recommendations I give at @fiveleavesbooks.bsky.social tonight plus the Gaylien I was given at Beeston library and the books I bought from 5 Leaves @sachacoward.bsky.social @ellenjones.bsky.social @regretteruane.bsky.social

If you’re a bookshop or library wanting to cover LGBTQ+ equality right now and giving people tools can I recommended 1. Stocking my book Outrage and 2. Inviting me to speak

I panic about not having done enough book events all the time. But then I remember I’m literally disabled.

So the UK has slipped from 1st in Europe for LGBTQ+ rights to 22nd. The only countries who dropped a comparable level this year to us are Hungary and Georgia. I’ve been saying it for years - in fact I wrote a whole book on it - but LGBTQ+ people are not safe or stable in the UK.

I am on todays episode of @podsavetheuk.crooked.com talking about trans rights in the UK and how we got here!

A win for transphobes + the Australian election, coming up on tomorrow's Pod Save the UK. LGBTQ+ activist @ellenjones.bsky.social & former deputy PM of Australia, Wayne Swan join @mrnishkumar.bsky.social & @zoegrunewald.bsky.social. Out tomo: http://go.crooked.com/PodSaveTheUK

I was waiting for some more elements to be in place before I announced it, but I am setting up a directory of LGBTQ+ freelance creative talent. Given everything going on I would like to more urgently get this going & prioritise trans talent. If this is you please introduce yourself below / email

A Freedom of Information Request made to the Department of Work and Pensions found that 87% of people receiving the PIP daily living component at the standard rate, and 13% of those receiving the enhanced rate, are likely to lose their awards if the proposed changes go ahead.

I recommend @ellenjones.bsky.social ‘s book Outrage uk.bookshop.org/p/books/out-...

List is more updated. So the total of protests announced in the last 48 hours is about 21. All over the UK. I have also linked some fundraisers to Trans Legal Project and the @goodlawproject.bsky.social And included petitions too.

If you’re a women’s rights campaigner who hasn’t condemned the Supreme Court ruling please know we see your fascist sympathising xxx

Today's Supreme Court Ruling - which will decimate trans lives - is a direct result of a case funded substantially by J K Rowling. This is what we mean when we say support J K Rowling & Harry Potter has tangible harms for trans people.

By the way, this is why I am scared of so many women’s rights campaigners because it’s often a front for fascism

This would be a good day to buy queer books (and pummel bigots with them). @404ink.bsky.social have some great ones, ofc. I'm also currently enjoying @ellenjones.bsky.social' Outrage and in interviews I've been recommending Jon Savage's Secret Public and everything by Darryl W Bullock.

Nothing like a bunch of cis blokes deciding what womanhood is right, ladies?

Having excluded all trans people from proceedings before it, the Supreme Court decides in favour of For Some Women Scotland.

BBC Women's Hour platforming infamous transphobe who has written a supposedly definitive book on lesbian life now....but of course. Why should we expect any different...

One of the best ways to support your author friends besides buying their books is leaving a positive review online or if you’re a person of influence / note - letting us use them as endorsements. Even after publication endorsements make a huge difference!

One fairly low impact bit of activism you can do if you're in the UK is to write to your MP and ask them to ask Streeting why he allows a child abuse network to influence trans healthcare policy. Ideally in the commons where he can't pretend he didn't hear it.

Coming up from 6pm on LBC (12.04.25) - Does the Steel Bill herald a new era of economics and if so is this a good thing? - What is Michael Gove’s legacy on the education system? - If you’re autistic, how do RFK jr’s comments this week make you feel?

One of the things I wrestle with is whether I'd ever have kids. I'd always said no growing up - and I think it is still probably a no. But I didn't know any queer mums personally until the last two years. It's hard to want something you didn't know was possible

UK folks: just because the US is loud with its transphobia, do not assume that we are not just as bad here. On book tour, I got so many questions about how we stop becoming like the US. In many ways, we already are, we just strip people’s human rights like access to healthcare quietly.

1.4k hate comments and rising for sharing *one fact* from my book about LGBTQ+ equality.

A lot of people think the 800+ anti-LGBTQ+ comments I’ve had over the last 48 hours are from bots. They’re not. They’re from actual people including: - a competitive powerlifter - a criminal justice graduate & job seeker - a history teacher - a mum of three who runs a bakery school

Instagram has removed three of my reels in the last 24 hours - each one calling homophobia, transphobia and sexism. Welcome to my life as an author trying to get her book into the world.

Today I’ve had nearly 800 comments on an Instagram post abusing me for being a queer woman. I thought y’all were holding each other to account post Adolescence??

I’ve spent the last 48 hours being told I should be dead for being a lesbian if you wondered what being a queer author is like in 2025.

One of my videos ended up on the wrong side of the internet and people have left some vile comments, mostly saying that I am a predator, all lesbians are wife beaters etc. But you will never catch me being offended by being called trans because that’s not an insult.

MANCHESTER Do you want to know how you can better show up for LGBTQ+ Equality? I'm coming to Queer Lit next week on book tour and Meta which definitely isn't anti-LGBTQ+ is showing my post promoting it to...15 people. Details below & please share! www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/outrage-in...

A PSA for the UK Government (yes, they actually said that)

I’ve had conversations with friends about their wishes for when these welfare reform changes kill them. I’m 26.
