The Jan 6 folks who were authentic (I was a football-field away) and not Feds walked peacefully through the roped area of the Capitol. There were a few that got way too rowdy. Not many there anyway. You can't win with insults, by the way. It's kind of automatically making you lose the argument.

I think it is meaningful to be legal and legitimate in the country where you reside. If someone is some country-bumpkin who is obviously just an off-the-grid American, that is usually quite apparent. They're definitely not going to do anything to harm the country they want to thrive in.

The difference is that the American citizen is "above-board," usually manifested in a steady address, a social security #, driver's license/ID, neighbors who can vouch for them, speak our language well so that they are easy to communicate with, birth certificate. All increase accountability.

hello reasonable human. I too, am a reasonable human. I believe it is reasonable to suggest that bad hiring practices, along with a lack of accountability, lead to bad performance. He's saying the things that many people have been thinking for a long time.

Haha, "dimwitted." Bro, I am an educated fellow, and I know my shit from Shinola. But it doesn't take a genius to realize that allowing unmitigated immigration is unsafe and unsustainable. Trust me, within a few years of this, you will see a noticeable difference in prosperity and safety here.

Yes I have. But take me there. Draw me a picture. Was it the same time as the Dark Ages?
comment in response to post
This is why I have a bumper sticker that says "Democrats hate America." How could you say such a thing in good conscience?
comment in response to post
I'm pretty sure the real dark part was the Islamists. They've been in control for 1400 years, and they made it all the way to Vienna, Austria before they finally got pushback from Christians.

Just trying to make sense of what the hell is going on with that confusing video. He really was immature, don't you think?

From your original question, do you mean how would it help U.S. if we were to adopt it as the main currency, or just as A currency? Or do you mean if the USGov invests in it, or do you mean if they deregulate and take less taxes on it? Make it legal tender?

Sounds like you know what you're talking about. I have read Tragedy & Hope by Carroll Quiggley, who said that inflation was good for the people, and he had a sound explanation for it, but I've never talked to anyone about that really. Most people agree that "faith" money from Fed isn't a good thing.

Bitcoin is immutable. There is no way it can fail an audit. It is deflationary. It is decentralized. It is the highest-performing asset of all time. It's very easy to transport and transfer. If you have a non-custodial wallet, it is trustless. You can always reconstitute your balance with the keys..

At least they bothered arguing with you. The only argument this account had in the discussion they jumped in of mine was, "You're an owlfucker" and "you look like a pedophile."
comment in response to post
Was what I said "incoherent." You're a college student, I understand, so you might need to pop into ChatGPT to explain it to you at a 2nd-grade reading level.
comment in response to post
Oh I get it. I see what you're doing. You just call people who argue the opposite side effectively bots and pedophiles, instead of having a civil discussion. Not an effective strategy in the long-run. It only serves to increase the reverb in your echo chamber.
comment in response to post
You are, and you are attracted to minors, clearly.
comment in response to post
Pedophiles like little dogs. Clearly a pedophile.
comment in response to post
You're a pedophile.
comment in response to post
The way you behave is far worse than anything I've seen on Twitter. What is your reason for calling me a pedophile. That is extremely offensive to me.

I like the insult at the end. I was there on January 6 about a football field away from the capitol; trust me it wasn't very violent. There were a few scuffles that were instigated by the FBI. That has all come out in the news and what hasn't come out yet will come out soon. Yes, they stuffed them.

Genetic testing. Sorry I can't resist this joke: What percent Native American is he? Is he descended of slave owners?

*when we used to have early chatrooms Man, I'm not on point right now with the editing to take out words so I can fit the post limit. I keep either taking out too many or leaving in unnecessary words! X now just cuts off the tweet at the 280 mark and you can click to see the rest. Super cool!
comment in response to post
*not trying to sound as smart as possible (you dropped the second "as" in yours, lol) So if you're reading this, decide for yourself if I'm trying to sound smart, or if I sound like I might have something to say. Remember when early chatrooms? It's intrinsically about having discourse with others!
comment in response to post
I'm not just trying to sound as possible. I'm honestly just trying to explain my points as clearly as possible to advance the meaningful conversation. This is somehow being called "in bad faith." The amount of prejudice in that is baffling.
comment in response to post
Nothing you have said thus far has been anything but dismissive, derisive, and condescending. You have just accused me of my motives, which you really don't know. I have been having these conversations, and I have posted unreasonable flip outs, because I want people to see the ugliness of this.

I'm 41 years old. No, I honestly thought I could get some interesting dialog. I wanted to get some perspective on what people find different about BlueSky that they weren't getting on X. It is a public forum, and it's okay to discuss things rationally. I'm not just arguing blindly.
comment in response to post
This is a public forum. You can't tell people to stop replying and claim they are acting in bad faith. There's nothing inherently wrong with thoroughly addressing false claims and errant conclusions. This is a very immature reaction, and it just avoids my challenge. How can you not see this?
comment in response to post
Let's talk some more about your bad-faith argument: Rose Walker's sexuality was not discussed or focused on. Now gay. Lucien and Morpheus, added gay relationship. And then every other character in the diner orgy murder scene being gay. I stopped after that episode, but I'm sure it got worse.
comment in response to post
Let's talk about arguments made in bad faith. Drop an article on me where the author claims that the characters were "always written that way." No, the queerness from the show was very often added as an afterthought. John Constantine was not a female lesbian in the comic book, to my recollection...
comment in response to post
You linked an article supporting your opinion about ONE example I provided of overrepresentation of marginal groups. I responded with my experience and knowledge of the media. You have not refuted my response, so you're admitting that you were incorrect in your assertion. I accept your resignation.
comment in response to post
I'm not. What an accusation! Is that the go-to for everyone on this platform? A discussion is a discussion. I have my point of view, you have yours. You clearly cannot back up your own point of view, so you're the one who would be accurately described as arguing in bad faith.
comment in response to post
Yes, exactly, it's very difficult.

The motivation for Elon Musk and anyone who lives in the U.S. to make the government more efficient is sound: we pay into the system. When you are a citizen of the U.S., especially one who benefits so much from its apparatus like Elon, you naturally wish for efficiency of the funds you pay in.
comment in response to post
Since you're a rational dude, I think you can see that the statement, "let's be honest, his goal is to streamline govt cash flow into corporate coffers" is a bit too bold. You'd have to find somewhere he's implied a desire to do this, some iffy connections or deals he's made in the past to support?
comment in response to post
We are a Republic, I want you to be aware. Your side is currently suggesting that democracy should have been subverted in order to "save democracy." Your side also stuffs mail-in voter boxes with fraudulent votes, en masse. You don't appear to care for democracy.
comment in response to post
You'll have competitive corporations again with these folks (after regulating foreign-influenced, American-undermining trusts). They won't all own all legislation and all politicians (a perfect oligarchy) anymore, as through disruption of the media narrative, less trust is placed in that amalgam.
comment in response to post
I think the outrage of all of this has come to a head, and you'll be surprised (whereas I won't because I have my finger correctly placed on the zeitgeist pulse) at how much reform is about to actually take place, and change the world for the better. Everyone including corporations will benefit.
comment in response to post
You think I am the only one who finds this useless? I am putting it to you that this line item would be rejected by almost every voter if they were aware of its existence. Anyone could find a better use for that. So the idea of transparency is to raise awareness and spur budgetary reform.
comment in response to post
It really wouldn't. It could be done quite efficiently to have our representatives vote on line items based on the platform that they campaigned with to get their constituents' votes. What happens now is the incredibly protracted filibustering kabuki shitshow we exist and suffer under needlessly.
comment in response to post
If you'd stop reframing my motivations with your own preconceived notions, and address each point I make at face value, then you might be able to have something like a human discussion. No, I am not expecting anyone to simply tell me I'm right and they're wrong. I want to have a discussion, actually
