I see we’ve got to the “selling commissions” phase of the monarchal cos-play session.

My work email is at 16,000. I tried inbox zero but exchange crashed repeatedly.

Recliners are something else. I will brook no argument against them, even if this one did have a funny smell.

I passed the old single motorcycle test *and* I've just bought a reclining sofa. Off the Facebooks, naturally. Comes to us all eventually. Embrace the comfort.

On the other hand, FIFA is about as corrupt an organisation it is possible to get so I think they will get on famously in Trump World.

In fact I’m sure the fondue scene (IFYKYK) was more adult than it really had a right to be…

It’s been a while (decades 👀) since I’ve read any Asterix, but I am convinced that there are plenty of background characters who are worth expanding on.

The best bit is they’re not even on the same platform 😂

What it does show is that the Russian intelligence apparatus is basically nonexistent. The Ukrainians are able to, over the course of 18 months, prepare an attack deep inside Russian territory with significant moving parts and they were none the wiser. I see a purge coming. Putin is embarrassed.

I remember when the term “grab bag” was reserved for ridiculously sized bags usually seen at petrol stations. Now, it seems to relate to anything bigger than a small, and this vexes me.

I bet they still insist that gun records be maintained manually, though.

They also forget about traditional investigation eg. CCTV. ToC investigators have zero problem getting the CCTV for your home station showing your regular court. If BTP are involved, then that’ll include your cell site data. These aren’t experienced criminals, after all.

And our Supreme Court is absolutely not shy when it comes to telling Government to go away and do it properly.

“Seduction” feels like it is doing some very heavy lifting. Did their eyes meet over a bump of ket? Did she coquettishly flutter her eyelashes as he described his Mars ambitions?

On the other hand, the Open House London thing they did at the Abbey Mills pumping station was a grand day out for free (and the chap who gave the lecture was ace). As I was paying Thames Water at the time I feel less of a freeloader, and they had cut through my VM cable a few years back.

I’d buy the limited edition Betamax release if only because the smell of it takes me right back (my old man bet on the wrong side of the format wars, but my formative years were buttressed by peak Sony industrial design)

When you approach middle age, you will find that neither spare time nor reactions are anywhere near what they were in your twenties. And what of those not blessed with 100% physical ability? If a dev has decided that we deserve a lesser game, then that’s a ‘them’ problem.

In the worst timeline we would have had Alan Sugar, and then the biggest issue would have been the sudden proliferation of Amstrad EM2000s in every government office. I mean it’s better than a Qatari 747…

I did a rewatch of Dead Like Me a little while back and the sheer optimism of the late 90’s/early 00’s kicked me very hard in the shins. I am old enough to remember those offices and the beige/cream PCs. And the smoking rooms 😂

Well, yes. You’re not paying the licence fee so they want you to use the ad-supported international version. It’s not like they’re aggressively blocking VPNs.

Look at the police - there is no promotion path that doesn’t pre-suppose management ambitions, and a good thief taker is invariably an awful manager, so you have rafts of junior managers who are there because it’s the only way to advance up the pay scales but would be better as a technical grade

Have you tried Crossover to run windows games on the Mac? It’s come on leaps and bounds since I last tried it a few years ago!

2009 was yesterday. I’m absolutely positive about that. Next thing you’ll tell me is that 90’s is as far away from now as the 70’s were when I were a lad.

Sign the room with urinals as the urinal room. Now it’s a plumbing matter, rather than a ‘plumbing’ matter.

Someone’s going to exercise their second amendment rights during one of these seizures very soon and it is going to get messy. I assume that’s part of the plan.

Are the visas hostile, or are we now specialising in hostile science? I mean both are scenarios that I can entertain in These Modern Times.

It’s the Honey Badgers you need to watch out for. Phlegm and wigs everywhere, and woe betide the OIC who’s left the evidence in the police room…
