No, but these people are probably going to end up voting for Adams or sitting the election out because they're so radicalized against Zohran. Which is fine, I think Zohran will win comfortably either way.

What would Zohran's volunteer base have looked like if he were young and charismatic but running on the same platform as Cuomo or a million other centrist Democrats? DSA formed the backbone of his base and was instrumental in getting out the vote for him.

When I went out canvassing for Zohran I kept thinking about your campaign and all the skills it taught me for persuading voters (taught by the amazing Jen Snyder). Unreal that we've come this far together.

I joined DSA in 2016, right after Trump won, when it had barely any influence in electoral politics. I watched as my comrades built a thriving organization piece by piece. We lost, and we lost, and we lost, and we kept on trying. And little by little we started to win.

He won not by trying to run to wherever the polls are, but by staying true to a message and persuading voters to come to his side, one conversation at a time. And of course, by having a message based around materially improving the lives of New Yorkers. Socialism!

He won because of that, not despite it. That commitment is what kept people coming back to knock doors for him. The typical Democrat move of triangulating and apologizing would have killed all the enthusiasm for him.

Same at my polling place earlier in the week! Every single person I saw voting looked under 40

Zohran is delivering on the turnout promise of Bernie's campaign. Young and disaffected voters, first-time voters, etc. A campaign for the history books.

Zohran leading in early votes by 10 points, meaning Cuomo's only chance is to bring out his (mostly older) voters on a 100-degree election day in large enough numbers to offset that. I don't think he's gonna pull that off.

I think the race is very winnable at this point. Early voting seems to favor Zohran (a lot of young people), and Election Day is going to be about 100 degrees, which might deter Cuomo voters from turning out. Still, my odds are 60-40 Cuomo-Zohran, on account of the millions of $'s of anti-Zohran ads

Their ultimate fear is any openly socialist policy becoming the law anywhere in the US. Not the fear of it failing but fear of it succeeding and a broad coalition of people rallying behind it

never mind that the true existential threat to most of the Democratic leadership is give or take a few years

Democrats don't "want to lose," but more accurately they would rather lose without the left than win WITH it. Winning while running on leftist policies means losing control of the party, which is a much more existential threat to leadership than a loss to Trump.

Evidence so far is that Zohran is energizing tons of young voters and doing well with male voters, all things Democrats claim to want. But make no mistake: a socialist victory, even if that socialist runs as a Democrat, is a defeat as far as the party is concerned.

Also, purely anecdotal but there was a sizable line of voters, all young people, at my polling place at 1pm in Brooklyn. Bodes very well for Zohran's turnout!

Election Day is going to be nearly 100 degrees, so get your voting in early. And yes, Zohran is the only viable anti-Cuomo candidate at this point so make sure he's somewhere in your ranking (you can rank others higher than him if you like them better)

Zohran being a real threat to Cuomo means there's a lot of perceived upside for people like Stringer to switch teams. If they were going to lose anyway, may as well ally with Cuomo and hope for a reward for handing him the nomination.
