Agreed. Which is why I think that widespread AV adoption is a long way away.
comment in response to post
I disagree. What you’ll find is that AVs will have to drive like little old ladies until such time as there are no human drivers. I happen to think that we are decades away from widespread AV adoption
comment in response to post
People don’t expect computers to make mistakes and so I would suggest that no deaths caused by AVs would be acceptable.

It seems to me that Musk is now in a no win situation. If he crawls back to Trump is reputation will never recover. If he starts attacking Trump his companies will get destroyed. The only chance he has got is to completely withdraw from public life and hope everyone forgets.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Badenoch isn’t trying to trigger a discrimination case, and try to use it to her advantage.

Is it because computers are not yet powerful enough or will much more powerful computers still come across the same block?

I’m also not sure about the ‘Farage is right. Vote for us’ strategy.

No room for complacency but opinion polls are not the same as turnout on election day when a Reform Ltd government is a real possibility.
comment in response to post
Given what’s happened I think they can wave goodbye to being reelected because they deserve it. The best they can hope for now is being reelected because they are not Farage.

The article confuses lithium ion and LFP. LFP is used because it is much more chemically stable and a much lower risk of thermal runaway. The idea that batteries have to be replaced every few years is also just plain wrong. Every 20 years perhaps.

As a kid I was convinced that Royston was in northern Scotland as it was at the top of my dad’s map.

Surely those intending to leave at the next election would be the troublemakers - nothing left to lose.
comment in response to post
There is one small upside. It will give us something to trade away in exchange for further concessions from the EU. In the short term it’ll be shite but that’s Brexit in a nutshell 🤷🏼‍♂️
comment in response to post
That's probably a better headline for Starmer than 'The UK government is an absolute pleasure to negotiate with as they agree to anything we suggest'.
comment in response to post
We did rather flounce off, telling the EU that we could do better. It's no surprise that they would drive a hard bargain if we indicate that we've changed our minds.

They hold all the cards and they can choose the path they want.

As you wish.

Vote Lib Dem or Green and get Reform Ltd.
comment in response to post
Yes if it wins the next election it will be a stroke of genius. I don’t agree with any of it, but right now Labour is the least worst option.
comment in response to post
I still open the curtains every morning and give thanks that we no longer have a Conservative government,
comment in response to post
A long way to go. We are still a year away from being half way through this Parliament.
comment in response to post
If Labour wins the next election it will seem a genius move. If they go on to lose, this will be up there with the prime suspects.

AF1 has all kinds of security features fitted, which is one of the reasons the new model is taking so long to convert. You can’t just put POTUS on some private jet, even a fancy one.

Rejoining was always going to be a 10-20 year project. To think otherwise was a case of British exceptionalism.
comment in response to post
It’s still slim pickings compared to what we had with the EU but right now we have to take whatever wins we can get.
comment in response to post
When she says ‘we’ve been shafted’ she presumably is referring to the Conservative Party.

Thanks.

Won’t US beef in the UK be problematic for the EU?
comment in response to post
Because Trump is an idiot and the world of 2024 is no longer available.

I just remembered what I'd had for breakfast.

I care about the UK. I will vote for the candidate best placed to stop Reform Ltd. People with their precious principles are going to usher in a fascist government. And they will own the consequences.
comment in response to post
Explain further, if you can.
comment in response to post
People with luxury principles are going to land us with a fascist government. Don’t be one of those responsible.
comment in response to post
Nope. It’s a binary choice. Labour or Reform Ltd.
comment in response to post
Here in the UK we have FPTP whereby you have to vote against the party you don’t want in government. Failure to understand this basic principle will result in a fascist government. Don’t make that mistake.
comment in response to post
You don’t seem to understand how FPTP works. I suggest that you urgently find out before you unwittingly elect a fascist government. Don’t do it just to keep a clear conscience.
comment in response to post
You have to live in the real world. Under FPTP you don’t vote for who you want. You vote against who you don’t want. We are in danger of electing a fascist government because some people aren’t happy with the pace of change under Labour. This is serious stuff.
comment in response to post
We have just endured 14 years of Conservative government. Reform Ltd would make them seem compassionate. Be careful what you wish for.
comment in response to post
I understand FPTP. You appear not to.
comment in response to post
Be careful what you wish for. People voted for Brexit in 2016 because they were convinced that things couldn’t get worse. They were wrong.
comment in response to post
Anyone who votes against Labour owns the Reform Ltd government that they help elect.
