Fingers crossed. Hope the pain subsides quickly.

🧶 Does it make sense to keep projects in one thread? It might be nice to be able to see the progress. Anyway, my socks are finished! As usual I‘ve made them matching, but not identical. #KnitSky #HandKnit

Sounds good. The important thing is to get a fabric that you like. So I recommend either finding a thicker yarn, or adapting the pattern to you gauge (sometimes knitting the next larger size can work, but I would do the maths to check).

It might be impossible to choose 🫣 I love them both!

Two weeks ago I had my first batok ceremony. Today these books and kits by @kabuay.bsky.social arrived. Just what I needed, so my niblings can grow up knowing about our markings. 🥰 #Batok #LittleMambabatok

🧶Slowly making progress on this big boy. #KnitSky #HandKnit

It looks great as a vest, and you can probably wear it for most of the year without sleeves.

I love to use the Italian Bind Off. It’s basically grafting the rib together, as if the stitches of the two pieces you want to graft are on your needle alternately. It’s nice and stretchy, and so neat. So if you know how to graft a toe, you can definitely learn it.

I have an entrlac book, I got when I had just learned to knit, that might be the kind of thing you are looking for. It has a section teaching you how to knit it first, then it’s also a stitch dictionary, and has patterns. www.goodreads.com/book/show/94...

I can only be thankful that my parents were ready to buy me the books that I chose, even though they were sceptical about the cover art. Terry Pratchett’s discworld was so formative for me.

I love both, and I still can’t decide which I like better. On the other hand I love slightly mismatched socks too, so this actually works for me 😄

🧶 My finished Heiloo socks are dry. I love how they turned out, and as usual I decided to make the second one slightly differently. Which do you prefer? I kind of love the little mismatch. Pattern by @saltandstoneknits.bsky.social yarn: Old Maiden Aunt @swim-knit-make.bsky.social #KnitSky #HandKnit

I don’t have a darning mushroom, but I love my darning egg. I also have a darning loom that I love. I use it either for a woven darn or I use the wooden disk and elastic instead of my egg.

Yesterday was a big day (more about that another time). As usual I am spent and happy to have the weekend to recover. I did manage to finish my second Heiloo sock yesterday. 🧶 #KnitSky #HandKnit

I can feel them better when I’m not looking at my knitting all the time. I have accidentally knit past a round marker before 🫣 and lost the marker in the process.

I have the colourful triangle markers from Coco Knits, and I love them. The different colours are also perfect to know where I am in my round. I’m currently using them to track what row I am at because I got fed up counting them 😅

Good for you! Glad you can take it slow. I get so excited, it’s really difficult for me to slow down once I’m reaching the hem 😅

You should be making a DS every time you turn. Without it you will get a larger gap when you go back to knitting over all stitches. It’ll be biggest if you worked the first stitch after turning, less if you slipped it, and can be barely noticeable with the DS or other short row methods.

🥰 Thank you, I’m very happy with the result myself. Luckily there is one round of main colour knit stitched between the ribbing and the colourwork.

After 3 years I have decided to stop darning my first pair of Heiloo socks, and am making a replacement. Here’s my first pair from when they were fresh off the needles. 2/2

This looks perfect as a first lace project. Unfortunately headscarves don’t work for me, they just slip off, so I’ve given up on them 😅
