I think about two weeks! We've got a big backlog of interviews to get out, and we have to have it approved by them and such

Maybe you're right. We've done something similar to what you suggest here. The only difference is that it's text below the job instead of hover because we get more visitors on mobile so no hover capabilities.

So here's my problem though:
People don't immediately understand what verified jobs are, and it takes me 5 tweets to explain it. Any ideas on how we can educate people about verified jobs?

Why am I happy with this arrangement? Users of our site get a large quantity of jobs AND a seriousness signal. Hirers get a way to make their jobs stand out. And, we at filtra get compensated for our work. Win, win, win! Positive sum business!

The thing that emerged is the "verified job", and I'm really happy with it. Verified jobs require the hirer to pay, because nothing signals seriousness quite like cash! Verified job get distinctive filtra orange, a check mark, and prime real estate at the top of the results.

But, this was a hard decision nonetheless because it took away the normal "pay to play" revenue model for a job board. This also meant we would need to add back in a "seriousness" signal to show which hirers really wanted to hire.

Seems reasonable. I do wonder, when you say "non-security reasons", what are those reasons?
