I'm running up my credit cards (like the rest of the US) to enjoy the best popcorn our great country offers.

Not to mention the deconstruction and gutting of federal law enforcement by DOGE over the past 4 months

They are too busy kidnapping dishwashers and cooks at the local restaurant and construction crews building new houses.

It was probably Stephen Miller, just wanting to give the media another squirrel to chase so they don't report on actual topics of substance. It's low hanging fruit, at best.

The way I see it, if they were gonna clone Biden, it would have made sense to upgrade to a younger, less frail, and more alert version.

Hopefully, the "getting back to that" ship hasn't already sailed.
If it hasn't, it still seems like it will be a long and mentally exhausting period of time before it returns to port.

It's very reminiscent of the first term, where the new plans for healthcare and infrastructure were coming "within the next two weeks".

They look more like members of the Patriot Front than they do law enforcement.

When you exaggerate the number of actual criminal immigrants in the US and promise to deport X number of people, these things happen. If given enough time in power, they will also deport legal US citizens that are critical of them.

Florida is already overbuilding to the point the supply is exceeding demand. Developers will abandon their projects due to a lack of labor to complete them and the commercial banks will be forced to take some pretty big hits.

Democrats are being given mid-term gifts on a daily basis. If they screw it up and don't flip seats it's on their leadership at this point.

It's like they can't accept that we are already one of the wealthiest countries in the world that simply doesn't have the manufacturing capacity and labor force to build everything we consume. Or they don't want the lower class to recognize that most of that wealth is in very few pockets.

Well, when all these low wage manufacturing jobs come back, we will have to put the kids to work because we deported all the immigrants. The economy will have shrunk by then to the point no one here will be able to buy anything but necessities at that point though.

Tariffs are not inherently bad when they are focused on unfair trade practices. But when Americans would much rather pay $60 for a pair of sneakers from Vietnam (instead of $250 made in the US), tariffs aren't the solution to that "problem".
comment in response to

Fair enough, his antiquated view of tariffs and lack of the basic understanding of the "global economy" brought us to this point.
Consumer demand for cheap goods, corporate greed, and any number of factors resulted in trade imbalances. Truth is, we simply, as a country, cannot not produce enough.
comment in response to

Just being a devil's advocate, but is it possible that someone is whispering sweet tariffs in someone's ear in an attempt to demolish the current economy? I mean, he just fired top NSC officials because Loomer didn't like them

Men have traditionally had more options to make a living wage without a college education (ie skilled trades) than women so this is not a surprise. There aren't a lot of women machinists, plumbers, electricians, etc.

Am I advocating for it? I'm just making an observation. We are in uncharted waters as our leaders, supported by a feckless and complicit Congress, dismantle our institutions in a slide into authoritarian rule.
