Pretty sure Biden/Harris/Walz focused on kitchen table issues. All the time.

They WANT the energy in all forms, 99% of it. They don’t need it and they’re not entitled to it.

This “only the U.S.” crap is so grating. Besides, the U.S. owes a debt of gratitude to France, circa the American Revolution. They were our first ally, ffs. You could almost say it’s because of France we don’t owe allegiance to the British monarchy. We don’t suffer any king or dictator.

The point is to make the U.S.A. vulnerable and its citizens weak and demoralized.

You Want It Darker is so good. Have you heard Everybody Knows? His last songs were some of his best.

I haven't lost my mind, but I feel a healthy amount of disdain.

Sums it up nicely.

He was extra outrageous today, since he is competing against Jimmy Carter in the press. In the same way a dog can be tricked into believing you've thrown a ball, when you haven't, the press shows up, again and again, breathlessly reporting every word, salivating, jumping, tails wagging.
comment in response to post
Well, if the press is stupid enough to take that bait and unprofessional enough to ignore President Carter, there's nothing we can do about it.

I don't know about living longer, but it sure makes our time here more enjoyable.

The Sound of Music, that movie where they flee the country to escape the Nazis. I'll take it.

All the information was out there, prior to the election. Now people are "hoping" their benefits won't be cut. It's a radical idea, I know, but perhaps people should start voting based on verifiable facts and information, not on hysterical, knee-jerk feelings.

I'm nearly 70, and thought my promiscuous days were behind me, but when you put it like this....

Leonard said he wrote the songs, but how the listener interprets them is their business. Also, I agree with you.

Everything is seriously fucked up about that.

Old, but Maneater is still horrible, after all these years.

I'm exhausted by their lies.

If someone threatened me, the cops would take a report, do nothing, and tell me to be careful. Someone thinks you're threatening the rich and powerful, it's a different story.
comment in response to post
Yes, because the press would not have amplified his comments.

I was sick all week, so couldn't see my baby granddaughter like I usually do. I feel better today, so my son dropped her off at lunchtime and we had the BEST time. She has so many words and has learned to tiptoe. We spent the afternoon and early evening making each other laugh.

Rant away. It doesn't bother me because I'm not listening.

Essential leftovers in our house: sliced turkey and cranberry sauce for sandwiches, a turkey carcass, along with leftover gravy and stuffing, for turkey and rice soup, cubed turkey, frozen for future pot pies.

What a delightful, generous thing to do! I'm happy to share this, and will have to check out your books. I love discovering new (to me) authors.

I read it years ago, but I really enjoyed Andersonville by MacKinlay Kantor. My all-time favorite historical novel is The Last of the Just by Andre Schwarz-Bart.

Good morning, Womble! I'm reading (and nearly done with) James by Percival Everett. Lucky you, to be reading Tombs for the first time!
