Back when the internet was good some weird NEET w/ a pirated copy of Photoshop and an actual POV had to think of what would be funny about combining Trump with tacos and then create that themselves, so the speed of it was actually impressive and also you didn’t burn down the rainforest to do it

There isn’t going to be a new “face of the league” in the style of Bird, Magic, Jordan, Kobe, LeBron. Those guys became that by sustaining winning for runs that lasted for most of a decade and included multiple championships. The new CBA will make sustaining that level of team quality impossible.

I feel like AI adoption is a symptom of there being more and more ppl who just thoughtlessly do The Done Thing, with so few counterexamples that they aren’t even sure what the difference would be. Or maybe people have always been like this idk, but so many cultural gestures feel empty in this way

There are people who put on birthday parties for their kids bc they’re excited to celebrate the day and love to know their child and think about what would be special for them and have that effort pay off, and there are people who put on A Kids Birthday Party bc idk thats just kinda The Done Thing

I think what they actually want is to cosplay as Very Serious and Important People using DC’s many marble buildings and mahogany-paneled rooms as their set, and avoid getting into any conflicts that might limit their post-office career choices if they do happen to lose an election or retire.

It would be so much better if this were actually true. Pointing out that Republicans’ goal is for people to get sick and die would probably be good for winning more elections!

Shaq’s worst bits and laziest analysis, delivered with at most 3% of Shaq’s humor and charm

Do you have a link on the stupid reasons why condos are so impossible in CA? I have been wondering why virtually all the condos in downtown Sac are either decades old or located in hotels for a little bit, feels like you might have the answer

Man, i have been wondering if there was any good writing on this exact topic for a long time. Thanks for doing it!

You can so clearly see Brunson sticking out his leg to try to get that contact. He’s seeking out a foot to land on! You still have to call it a defensive foul i guess but insane to reward that with a flagrant

I promise you if you actually wanted to do that, an FDA agent is not going to pop out of the fucking bushes and stop you. So why don’t you go ahead and do that and leave the rest of us alone

So fascinating because they could have won 2 or 3 of the ECF games last year but for clutch time failures. Feels like they really took something from that experience.

in the midst of a crisis of elite impunity so great it threatens the republic itself, one brave New Jersey senator did crimes so hard everyone agreed he still had to go to prison even though we don't really do that anymore

Oh how I yearn for the peace of mind humans used to enjoy back when, uh, we and everyone we knew all lived every day under the imminent threat of death by starvation, malnutrition, injury, infection, exposure, childbirth, parasites, animal predators, thirst…

He’s an incredible talent and obviously may someday become the best in the world, but as of today he’s not even the best winger on his own team can we please chill out a little bit?

I read it as pretty straightforwardly a critique of the limitations, delusions, and dangers of the kind of arrogant, know-it-all, I-can-figure-out-and-solve-everything-with-my-superior-intellect type that these guys overwhelmingly are, so strange that they read (and wrote!) it to mean the opposite

The trajectory of these guys is fascinating to me because I was/am also a big fan of the fanfic discussed here, it was essential in pushing me also away from mainstream liberalism…but it helped make me a socialist not whatever the fuck is going on with these guys.

“The bot demonstrated awareness that the behavior was both morally wrong and illegal” no it didn’t! It does not have awareness! It wrote those things because it has been reading stories pedophiles write and is dutifully regurgitating them! That’s all these programs are!

In case no one has recommended to you, this book was a lifesaver for our family on that front. We got it at 5 weeks and it had our newborn sleeping 6 hour stretches by 6 weeks and through the night entirely just before 2.5 months a.co/d/7w78XlK
