I do cool things with #Elixir and #Linux. #Bassfishing in the warmer months is my jam.

Then we need to add in self hosted if you have a proper GPU. Then do we use an MCP?

It's also not clear what "package/model" you should use? Sonnet ? Opus? Pro or Max? CLI or built into an ide? Some are good for small code bases, what is small? What is medium? Tokens? Yadda yadda yadda

Confusing name when we already have an observer within the Erlang/elixir ecosystem. Nice website design!

Are they pivoting to the AI space and this is an attempt to help them win hearts and minds of AI VCs?

I was one of many who said that, I have no trust in AI companies not to mess up a wonderful product. I would very much love to be proven wrong!

OoOo nice setup! I was going to try hyprland on arch if Cosmic didn't work out.

It's supposed to be fairly good now, I ran it a long time ago when it was like walking in a mine field. What's your setup?

The plan is to deploy plain old releases, the jump to containers is small so I might document it for fun. When I looked at Kamal it required the user to set up the server OS/security/etc. and left a lot of bits out. I prefer to have a single tool setup the OS and app in its entirety.

I'm actually working on the migration from Fly to Hetzner using OpenTofu and Ansible. The performance is much better on Hetzner and cheaper. Once I flush out the details and run prod for a bit, I can start documenting my efforts.

After fly started throttling, I found that all shared cpu vms are worthless 😢

A dirty way would be to find the process using observer and view its memory usage. It won't account for items like the mailbox but it's a start.

Pangolin with Pop!_OS alpha although I am very interested in the Fedora Cosmic atomic spin.

I've seen over 20 years of the industry, it keeps repeating itself. I wish the industry would change for the better...

I'm curious, how much do you spend on AI usage per month? It seems expensive with larger code based due to how much context the AI requires to be useful. Having summaries written sounds useful TBH, now I am wondering what the financial cost is.

I really enjoyed kagi but am torn as a small percent of the monthly cost is sent to a Russia company for the image search.

AI has a looooong way to go to become heavily relied upon in the group of experienced devs that I shoot the shit with.
