The only conclusion I’ve been able to arrive at is that they were only ever attracted to those sorts of things as a way to feel superior to the “normies” they couldn’t relate to, rather than any actual belief in the ideas themselves.

It’s both very easy and feels good to complain about things, while thinking about solutions is both hard and boring.
I think it honestly might be that simple.

It did inspire me to figure out what a bright stationary light in the sky was and now I know how to locate Venus, so that’s been fun!

This is the price for raw coffee beans. It’ll hit people who brew at home as well, and possibly worse, since the Starbucks’ of the world can weather tariffs better than small local roasters.

I was gonna say that spamming death threats to anyone you don’t like isn’t a part of the noble philosophic tradition of the great pursuit of truth, but then again, ask Socrates and he might say that it very much is.

And beyond that, while this is an issue in leftist spaces as well, the “well-behaved” people in right-wing spaces still benefit from the fact that the worst assholes will launch harassment campaigns against anyone who disagrees.

I wonder if, in a year or so, more people will see that the sky has not, in fact, fallen, and then be a bit more open to some more reforms.
This won't happen, but it's a nice thought.

Populist leftist who hates Dems more than he cares about helping people. He recently talked to Elon re: DOGE. Cenk then went on a tirade about how Democrats never listen to him like Elon has and this is why Dems lose. Expect him to wear a MAGA hat in a few months.
Also, an Armenian genocide denier.

Hell, let's just bring back Athens-style Ostracism. If you ever get charged, just convince half the citizenry that the accuser is kinda annoying actually and should probably just be banished for ten years.

Following the guidance of spending up to a third of your income on housing, this is affordable to someone making $60,000. Someone making a decent collegiate salary being able to live in a brand new downtown apartment doesn’t sound like a bad situation!
I may be too NYC poisoned though, to be fair.

It's amusing really, because they're essentially reeling against the vibe of a thing being made for relatively rich people, which indeed this is, but are missing the fact that this is only the case precisely because of people like them preventing housing from being built in the first place.
