Are we including women’s team players in this list?
Latest addition is Alessia Russo if so.

Dead-eyed. No wit, fun or humour in this car.

This Micra lacks the charisma to be an evil twin. It’s the H&S, risk averse, safe job in finance, twin to the R5’s extreme sports instructor twin.
Amazing how two car so similar can be so different in desirability.

But can the perceived negative attention be quantified? How many of those with negative opinions were ever in the target market anyway?
So much of the negativity seemed to stem from folk who would never have bought a new Jaguar either way, so irrelevant
comment in response to

Indeed. I don’t see how it can be deemed a failure or otherwise, although this keeps them in the news, so success?
I thought it was perfect from a ‘get attention’ point of view for a niche manufacturer.
And anyone upset about androgynous looking people in the ads can get in the sea.

I’m potentially that niche case; currently do around 20k miles a year, just moved house so no heat pump or solar yet, limited opportunity to load shift to off peak.
Even allowing for all that it still doesn’t make sense to go for the drive pack over Go Intelligent with my i3 doing at least 4m/kWh

That’s a great article, thank you. Very similar to some of my aforementioned dissertation.

Indeed. People complain about crossovers, but they are the simplest way to meet pedestrian impact legislation and now package a battery. The fact many people also like sitting higher means a happy meeting point of engineering packaging and customer desires.
comment in response to

I did my dissertation on the impact of the (then new) Ped Impact Legislation on car design 20 years ago. Bonnets either had to have pyro (Jag XK) or be raised from hard points below. Higher bonnet leads to higher driving position, leads to higher roof, suddenly a hatchback becomes a crossover…

Opel also had a 2door saloon didnt they?

Remember when we were promised EVs would bring infinite variety in car design and body styles because a skateboard platform allows any body on top?…
Instead we got identikit SUVs and SUV ‘coupes’. 🤦♂️

Lovely bit of self promotion/in joke in the last line.
As you said, being good at his job and caring about people should be completely uncontroversial. IT IS uncontroversial.
It’s the people who have a problem with that view that are the issue, they dislike and destroy empathy.

What a player.
Other than hair colour, he has perennially looked 45 years old for the past 40 years.

Looks great, you could definitely pull over stronger colours.
I’d guess you’re just not used to seeing yourself wearing it. Same reason I’ve basically stuck with the same style glasses for 20 years 🤦♂️

I don’t think the colour of the indicators were a factor in this accident.

Image is everything when it comes to cars here in the UK. The Jazz and Yaris are inescapably seen as cars for the elderly.

I think you and Jonny were confusing the Traaannnnnnsits Connect and Courier? It’s the (Fiesta/Puma based) Courier that is the good looking one, with boxy front end like the original Connect.

Which then leads to folk in bigger and/or expensive cars parking across two spaces, somewhat understandably, or less justifiably in disabled bays.
Perhaps car parks could offer larger spaces further from the shop entrance.

I don’t care, I just say post, but am baffled it’s not just automatically bleet/bleat; TWitter=TWeet, BLuesky=BLeet and has the same animal noise association as tweet.
It seems so obvious that any discussion over other options seems wilfully obtuse.
comment in response to

Exactly!! Bleets as in bleats in the same animal noise way as tweets seems so obvious!
Perhaps people are don’t like the sheep/sheeple association? I can’t see any other reason why this is not just the answer, but why any other options are suggested.

And many people don’t/can’t conscientiously move their car when it’s done, if you’re in the middle of a meal, or at the cinema, (or sleeping) etc
Maybe we’ll get to utopia where every single parking space has a charger so you can endlessly graze electrons, in the meantime more thought is needed
comment in response to
post
Few places seem to have grasped chargers should be sized suitable for use case.
A hotel does not need one ultra rapid charger but a bank of 7kw for example.
Hopefully the penny will drop, but lots of money is being wasted putting the wrong chargers in the wrong places.

My grandparents had a Solara in that colour in the late 1980’s. As a car mad 7/8 year old I remember how excited I was that they were getting a new (to them) car, but then being so utterly disappointed it turned out to be THIS!

Thank you, I have too many to ask! But really appreciate your recommendations and tips. I bought some green mini gloss rollers you recommended and the difference over the standard budget ones I’ve used before is astounding, even in the hands of a oaf like me!

I think that’s the crux of the right wing, extreme capitalist society we’re in, all (false) competition, doing ‘better’ than the next guy rather than collaboration, helping one another and being a community.
We’re encouraged to think punching down feels better than helping others up.

I had big hopes in someone who wasn’t a career politician, but my hope faded prior to the election when pledge after pledge got thrown in the bin and I voted Green.
We seem to be in an era of political con men, the only outcome I see from this Labour Govt is a Reform one following them. 🤬😢

Youd think from all the coverage that private schools had been abolished (which I think they should be), not just that this luxury is being taxed.
Imagine if all their energy and indignation was instead directed at driving up the quality of state education, so they didn’t ‘need’ private schools🙄
