They all sound so stupid parroting Trump‘s silly insults and conspiracies.

No. No, I did not.

There are lots of reasons to be disgusted by both of these men but this photo is clearly fake.

I watched an interview yesterday with ABC News and Jeffrey Goldberg. The ABC interviewer kept leaning into the admin’s conspiracy theories and pressing Goldberg’s relationship to Waltz (he repeatedly refused to discuss sources). Nada about the failings of the administration. It was embarrassing.

They have written or talked about all of that and more and in very recent days. Check out their YT and Substack. Another thing they do is think about how to get over past communication failures with voters which is what this article is, in part, designed for.

For a second, I felt bad for him. No one should have to experience the death of a child…and then I realized he was just being an asshole.

Does this apply to mortgage companies, credit card companies, and other debt services? If they complain they’re clearly a fraudulent organization.

His last because…? A girl can dream.

That last sentence is infuriating.

Absolutely. He tried to warn them not to be useful idiots.

Oh it’s terrible. Like “one of the worst movies ever made” territory. Loved, I’m convinced, by the same type of person who liked Hillbilly Elegy because it allowed them to pretend to have empathy while sneering and having their worst thoughts about poor people confirmed.

Me too. New life goal unlocked.

They shouldnt be compelled; I’m just assuming they love their country, see what’s happening, & would recognize ability to provide sanity in extraordinary times. You’re right; former pols aren’t obligated & also real hypocrisy in allowing names to be used in fundraising if they stay silent.
comment in response to post
I realize I used the word ‘obligation’ earlier; I shouldn’t have. They aren’t obligated. I just wish and hope they would. Have a good day! 👋

I agree with all of that. I also would hope that love of country—what presumably made them run for office—would inspire them to want to speak out, to be a part of making sure we don’t become an oligarchy/autocracy. And I mean all of them, certainly not just Harris, who was dealt a very bad hand.

Definitions matter. When I say “political class” I mean politicians who have the ability to communicate on a mass scale & be heard to express ideas/organize. And the oligarchs have not “already won” just because I express an opinion. Stop it. The inability to have discourse is how we got here.
comment in response to post
But she is the political class as are the Clintons, Obama, etc. this isn’t all on her, of course not. We need to stop playing the old rules of decorum and media and that’s what all the Dems are doing.
comment in response to post
AOC and Crockett are great but are clearly not endorsed or backed by their Dem colleagues, which is the problem. Trad Dems aren’t hurried by the moment, are still playing under the old rules of discourse & media. AOC/Crockett get what must be done but aren’t supported by the party as they should be.
comment in response to post
Because 70 million voted for her after giving her $100m+. She, former Presidents, & other elected officials have have an obligation to use their voice to make clear that none of this is ok. She & most everyone else have disappeared while still allowing their names be used for fundraising.
comment in response to post
The problem is Dems have always tried to work with GOP making themselves less effective & unable to address the needs of real people. Bernie has always had a great message that has been treated as too radical. If Dems would’ve mobilized behind these ideas the US would be so different.

I’m sure this is going to work out great from him. He knows what he’s doing but those leopards…they are lurking…

There were eggs at my local Costco yesterday. People eyeing each other by the milk like a fight was gonna break out. ‘Merica!

The night Obama got elected and Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, and Kevin McCarthy were all over the media declaring their jobs were to make sure Obama got nothing done and was denied a 2nd term. I wish Obama/Dems had treated them with same energy…he probably would have been a more effective president.

Over the last few months I’ve transitioned from mostly digital to all print and…I forgot how joyous bookstores and libraries are. So full of possibilities and hope! Digital is great too but the risk of losing the words I love is too great on the whim of capitalism or censorship…I just can’t anymore.

It is excellent. The stories are everything one would want from a horror anthology. I would also recommend Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror.

Costco must haves: fizzy water, oat milk, pasta, toilet paper, baby wipes, beans, dried goods, etc. Their fresh fruit and veg are great too. I am single and get most of my groceries at Costco. It’s just about knowing what you like & planning, not buying things because it looks good in the moment.

just watched a few minutes. Oof. He’s scolding them because they dare to condemn political movements that don’t align with human rights. What a sleazeball. He also thinks he’s good at public speaking and what he’s doing is chastising with righteousness. Thrilled to hear only a few claps in the room

Very much looking forward to tonight and excited for C4, which I’m going to assume will be because I need all the joy I can get over the next few years. Thank you for your work!
