I read Truth and Beauty by Ann Patchett first. I only wish I had reversed the order. Both will always be life changing for me.

The reader realizes the queen intends to take the girlβs soul at the end. Itβs the premise of the book. But the journey, although difficult, enriches lives along the way. Ending was a bit rushed. Yet time had literally run out. I liked the story.

Between the spines, the Queen of Hell overhears a runaway trans girl playing amateur violin scales and realizes this is the talent that will save her own soul. With unconditional love, cleverness, grace, and lots of good food, an unconventional cast of characters sail toward uncommon stars.
