So I guess in answer to your question, the public's response is mixed, but definitely not bad enough to get any of the bad actors out of state congress because, well, "I can't support a *Democrat*" while the rest of us (libs, cons, and mods) all look on in abject frustration and terror.

We doubled down. Missouri voters continue to pass mostly-progressive ballot measures WHILE ALSO electing public officials who all but campaign on the promise to ignore or repeal those same measures. See abortion ban, mandatory leave, etc.
I don't fucking understand it.

For spelling, that's just how Norman scribes recorded the sound, likely to differentiate that it was an Anglo word in writing. That stuck, and more than a thousand years later, it's still how we spell them, even if we don't say "kuh-nicht" or "kuh-nee-fuh" anymore.

No, but that was a big part of it. That consonant cluster, /kn/, is difficult to say (I mean, try it). As a result, it got leveled out of the language. It didn't happen overnight, but French influence contributed to it greatly.

In 1066, William the Conquerer came from Normandy and conquered England. He brought with him all his Norman forces and, eventually, aristocracy. The official language of the court of England was, for three centuries, Norman French.

It is beyond soul crushing to me right now to work in marketing for a public uni, especially in a deeply red state. I mean, it's never been great, but it is even worse now.

And when Dems are in power, they're so concerned with optics and "building coalitions" or whatever else as opposed to, like, brute forcing progressive policies through. "The Rs will do that too if we try it!" Bro, they are gonna do that anyway.

Same here. And teachers' unions have been so thoroughly disempowered in my state that there's not much they can do if teachers want to take any kind of stand for themselves or their students.

Do you not understand how incredibly out of touch this is? I guarantee the overwhelm majority of your constituents don't give a single fuck about AI and would rather you focus on, say, inflation, or civil rights, or the environment or LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE.

Eventually, she was defeated by the Army of Light, which supposedly destroyed her and was able to disrupt the ritual preventing the sunlight from reaching the land. But the Cult of the Black Sun suspects she could return with the right ritual and sacrifices.
