It was a coin flip between Stereolab and Sparks, but yeah, not too surprised that we synced up.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've got so many shows booked for Sep & Oct that I'm kinda glad this tour isn't coming to Toronto! Same with the Nation of Language fall tour that was announced yesterday. I need some nights off! 😆

Ticketmaster Canada has actually been showing the full price including fees at time of ticket selection for a while now. I guess that hasn't been the case in the US. Agreed with you that a lot of other changes are still needed, though.

Oh good, I was getting worried that the dozen or so concerts I already have tickets for in Sep and Oct wouldn't be enough! 🙃

In the case of yesterday's election, Pierre Poilievre (leader of the Conservatives) lost his own seat, but says he intends to stay on as party leader, assuming the party doesn't give him the boot. So another Con minister will have to serve as acting leader of the opposition in parliament.

If a party loses an election, the leader doesn't have to step down. They can stay on leader of the opposition. And as long as they win their own riding, they will still sit as a minister in parliament. They can even lose their seat and stay on as leader if the party doesn't turf them.

As per Elections Canada: "Each general election (GE) must be held on the third Monday in October in the fourth year following the previous GE." So unless a sitting gov't chooses to call an election (as was this case this time), or one is forced due to a vote of non-confidence, it's a 4 year term.

Technically possible, but unlikely. It’s looking like Liberals + NDP will have enough seats between them to make a majority, and neither of them will want any election any time soon, so they’ll likely work together as they did for much of the previous gov’t which was also a Lib minority.
