Maybe if McDavid availed himself on this play closer to the net instead of in a less viable shooting position than Mackinnon was already in, he could have made a pass for a tap in. Why risk a saucer pass to a less dangerous position?

For the good of the team and Crosby himself, he should insist on a trade to a contender to enable the team to accumulate some good picks/prospects, and also give him a couple more legitimate chances at another Cup. This treading water just sets them back and must frustrate the other guys.

I agree. Still upset we didn’t grab BC boy and budding star Logan Stankoven when many in the analytics community were touting him as a late first.

If Brock is missing games due to a concussion then it better not be a fine only. The league has to protect its stars from these fringe players or they open themselves up to team retribution which could escalate into more serious injuries (we all remember what happened with Bertuzzi).
