She said loves to yuck my yum. We were trying to figure out places to eat and she said she loved that pasta place. I said “Olive Garden? I love Olive Garden.” She said “oh gross, no. Olive Garden is disgusting.” I said again that I love OG. She kept saying it was the worst ever. Social cues lady!

she makes little digs about the messes I make. We’re still very much in construction / DIY mode so there is a mess in a lot of places. Instead on commenting on progress, she comments on the mess. “Oh my god, there’s so much stuff on your patio”. Yeah but did you see the garden boxes we made?

She tries to promote her weird sudo science to my kid. (She thinks deodorant and diet soda are killing people). Guess who loves Coke Zero? Me! Also- please never tell a 13 yr old boy his deodorant is killing him. You’re gonna kill me with his BO. When she does cook she doesn’t clean up and then

She blasts the tv until early morning when we have to work. She acts like she’s this frail thing that needs taking care of when we all know she’s tougher than nails. She does this fake crying thing when she’s upset or trying to get out of trouble. She doesn’t drive & expects to be chauffeured around

The US government is NOT A BUSINESS!!!! We are not supposed to be trying to make money. That’s what the republicans want it to be by privatizing everything. The government is a public institution meant to help and aid our citizens. We take on debt to aid programs value to our society.

My Trump supporting father drove around w/ a printed Ukrainian flag in his window during trumps first term. He’s not Ukrainian. His parents were from Ireland. I asked him why and he said because he supports the Ukrainian people in their war against Russia. I wonder how he feels now? I’ll have to ask

For a month and a half we thought my husband had pancreatic cancer. One of the scariest times of our 30 year relationship. It’s such a dire prognosis, I’m glad there are cures on the horizon. I only hope this dumbass administration doesn’t mess it up completely.

I love this thread. Who knew I’d love pigeons after reading these facts. I similarly fell in love with squirrels after listening to an episode on NPR. I learned the squirrels you see everyday are the same squirrels. They’re your neighbors. I love that.

Add Alfredo in the jar to the spaghetti sauce in the jar. It’s like fancy pink sauce. My kid requests it weekly and he never likes anything besides Mac and cheese and nuggets.

Far too many antivaxxers conveniently forget herd immunity is the reason why they don’t get polio and the like. They think they’re immune when in fact their community has been keeping them from major illness. When stupidity runs rampant, disease will follow.

My old job said they didnt pay us a competitive rate because they provide great “perks”. Perks were: insurance (I still paid $600/mos to cover me and kid), 401k matching (sure I guess but pretty common these days), free rec center pass to a city I can’t afford to live in. I’d rather have the $

Most of the companies I have worked for have put profit and/or reputation over people. If you set boundaries for yourself in the private sector they fire you (personal experience).

Honestly I appreciate that. All of this is about control not efficiency. I have very little respect for private sector firms. I have yet to find one that truly lives up to all of the promises they sell you in the interview.

When DOGEy came in and started saying the government need to work like the private sector I ask why? Why do any of us need to work like the private sector? It’s toxic and demeaning. The public sector sets boundaries that respects people’s time and the public’s money.

individuals who seemed to enjoy their jobs. I never ran into an issue where I needed to communicate with them on weekends or evenings. There was no reason for either of us to be working those hours. They had the work/life balance I always looked for in a job.

and I ended up hating my job and profession by the end. All that time I was killing myself trying to keep up with the demands of the private sector, the people I worked with at NPS were not working any less hard than me. They are/were dedicated knowable and passionate…

because there weren’t enough people to cover all of the projects. Emails and work on weekends was common place. I worked holidays, birthdays, nights, weekends. I put relationships second. I put my health second. I let the job rule my life. It burnt me out…

If you billed to overhead you were questioned. Overtime was practically compulsory if you wanted to succeed and be seen as a valued employee. We worked 3-10 demanding projects at a time. Often people were working above and beyond their job title/work description…

My boss was obsessed with making sure we were picture perfect through micromanagement. I had to submit weekly accountability emails stating what I worked on that week (Elon that you?) I had to log my time, accounting for every minute to a project, not once but 2-3 times a week.

He’s termed out. I think the new political views are him testing the water as moderate middle of the road politician. I’ve heard speculation that he’s eyeing a senate run, WH bid or a cabinet position. He definitely seems to be angling for something.

I’m just one guy doing what I can, they’ve got teams and resources and connections and it’s time they start treating this like a fight for survival because that’s what it is

Start assembling a general strike with the public, be very public about potentially shutting down what’s left of the federal government by refusing to pass the debt ceiling, publicly call their Republican colleagues craven shitweasels, the list goes on and on and on and on and on and

Hold press conferences with federal employees who have been fired speaking, go on national shows and give their time to federal employees who have been fired so they can speak, lead daily protests outside the White House and associated buildings, stop pretending you can collaborate with fascists

Polis is estimated to be worth 400 million. He’s one of them, he always has been. It’s been beneficial to his career to pretend to be progressive. Now it’s beneficial to his career to be Trumps friend. We don’t need people like that in politics.
