These officers should be ASHAMED of themselves. No doubt they would be fine if this were there father being treated like this. They have NO MORALITY or HEART or SOUL.

Video where an individual was tackled by the above personnel and then local law enforcement began pushing back on the hundreds of protesters and routinely firing less-lethal projectiles. Many of the protesters had no clue a dispersal order was called. I asked dozens just before; all but one said no.

Super important that LAT confirms "few in the crowd seemed to realize the order had been given." I appreciate them confirming concern I'd been flagging here:

It’s basically the meme where people replace the audio with squeaky shoe sound effects to mock boring parties

The parade has hit a lull as we near the 7 p.m. mark. But lo, the sound of a helicopter! People rush toward the Mall to witness … a news chopper.

Can confirm that they are *not* throwing candy or little army toys or beads from the tanks, and my 9-year-old self who got candy and little army toys and beads from a tank soldier on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, N.Y., in 1980something is a little sad.

We now have the first tanks … and the first raindrops.

The tanks and planes have yet to arrive. And the end of the route appears to be more populated and spirited. But here between 20th and 21st streets on Constitution Avenue, the mood is decidedly subdued. Golf clap-level enthusiasm as we hit the 6:20 p.m. mark.

It’s 6:14 p.m. at the D.C. parade, and it is *quiet* on Constitution Avenue between 20th and 21st streets.

It’s 6:04 p.m. in D.C., and we have parading. Crowd has filled in a bit at the route front, but mainly one deep along Constitution Avenue.

The D.C. parade crowd definitely has Trump rally strains. The MAGA hats, the mugshot t-shirts. But talked to a lot of tourists, international visitors, apolitical onlookers. Pretty subdued. And these folks.

T-minus 48 minutes. Great parade views still to be had on Constitution between 21st St. NW and 22nd St. NW.
