Becoming an internet privacy nut is both a fun hobby and a great way to continuously validate your paranoia even if the extensive corporate surveillance is real.

I dug up this very helpful old article on the internet archive that I think explains the problem and solution extremely clearly using the way Quake handles gravity as an illustration

Oh wait is this still Euler integration, but with hardcoded sub-stepping?

It is! I remember it being described as a spiritual successor by the devs.

I've heard someone say this in a public game world lobby and with context clearly meant men and NOT trans-women and then an actual transphobe piped up agreeing, not realizing what the other person meant and got themselves vote kicked.

Minor nit pick, but Blender actually stopped including most add-ons with 4.2, the Get Extensions page in the settings actually downloads the addon from the new official addons repository.

This is NOT how I remember this movie! lmao

It automatically snaps one meshes surface onto another, very much like wrapping food with plastic wrap (including the part where sometimes it folded over it self and it's annoying to fix).

I mean, at face value, this old HMD is very similar to something like the Bigscreen Beyond, in form factor, technology, and intended use case. Lightweight OLED microdisplay HMD meant for watching movies, hehe

I realized last night that I only actually need the multi-res modifier briefly to bake normals, since it works way better and faster than using "Bake from selected to active", and doesn't ever bake the wrong parts of a mesh onto another.

IDK I'm like mildly crashing out because this feels so obvious... shrinkwrapping over the voxel sculpt is how I made the multi-res version in the first place. Like why did this take me years to realize...

I knew about the multires issue years ago, and I "solved" it by not using multi-res again after the rabbit. I worked around it before that by using Decimate->Unsubdivide and then using Data Transfer to copy the UVs back, but that barely worked.
Just using shrinkwrap is so stupid simple though!

Multi-res "Apply Base" screws up your base mesh.
Shrinkwrap just like perfectly unfucks it.

I haven't used Windows 11 much, but there's a PowerToy launcher that acts like Spotlight/KRunner. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/window...

Wait, I've been trying to figure out how I could use Godot's lightmapper for Overte worlds, and I think this is it. I already have to break all the objects out into separate GLB files, I can just bake separate lightmaps for each piece!

What's probably happening, is that what ever software your using DOES support WebP but is lying about it. This is just lying back.

I think the webp situation on Windows is bad.
