I don't, however, tend to agonise about the plight of people in other countries, beyond the pain of seeing and hearing about outstanding horrors and tragedies. I have no skin in their game and no influence over their lives. Perhaps, therefore, I am not "left" enough. Possibly a *genocide* lover.

3/ I don't think of myself as a particularly good person. But I do care about the people in my life, including the person I walk past in the street and the person who serves me in a shop. More broadly, I care about the vulnerable people in my community and in my country. But that is abstract.
